Federal and state authorities arrested 23 leaders, members and associates of the Ghostface Gangsters prison gang on a 21-count indictment charging them in crimes of conspiracy to commit racketeering, conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, carjacking, four counts of attempted murder, kidnapping, maiming, assault, possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, and firearms offences.

“An attack on our law enforcement officers is an attack on all of us and can never be tolerated,” said Attorney General Sessions. “Law enforcement officers are the thin blue line standing between law-abiding people and the violent gangs and criminals who peddle poison to our young people, terrorize our communities, and attempt to impose a false sovereignty over our neighbourhoods. The Ghostface Gangsters is a whites-only prison gang formed in the Cobb County, Georgia jail system, that has since expanded outside the prison system, and its membership is now estimated to include thousands of members throughout Georgia.
Two of the gang’s founding “Pillars” members murdered two correctional officers and a Polk County detective and also committed multiple attempted murders, kidnapping, firearm crimes, drug trafficking, assaults, witness tampering, wire fraud and other crimes in furtherance of the gang’s activities.

Following the attack on former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia, London Metropolitan Police said they “are now in a position to confirm that their symptoms are a result of exposure to a nerve agent and that scientific tests by government experts have identified the specific substance used.” 

The police also said that they were “targeted specifically” in last weekend’s suspected poisoning, adding that “one police officer, who was part of the initial response, is also in serious condition and receiving intensive care.”

“This is being treated as a major incident involving attempted murder by the administration of a nerve agent.We believe the two people who originally became unwell were the specific targets and are focused on identifying and finding those responsible,” the authorities said.

If someone thought that the vicious winter that had buried US East Cost in deep snow last week is over, they were to be disappointed by a warning sounded off by the weather authorities.

“Another winter storm is set to impact the East Coast beginning tomorrow. Take the time right now to check the forecast from your local (meteorological) office and think about how you’ll prepare for adverse winter weather conditions”, the National Weather Service said on its official Twitter page.

The storm is expected to slam into New York, Boston, Pennsylvania, Maine, Washington, D.C. and Virginia, threatening more than 50 million people with 6 to 12 inches of snow, with as much as 18 inches toward New Hampshire and Maine.
