A “deeply disturbing” and “horrifying” video of Uyghurs in China’s Xinjiang that has surfaced online, shows dozens of Uyghur men, with their heads freshly shaved —blindfolded with their hands tied behind their backs during a mass transfer at a train station in the north-west region of China.

The video, posted to YouTube last week anonymously by “War on Fear”, has been verified as authentic by Nathan Ruser, an Aussie security expert,  who said by zooming in on Google Earth details like the shadow cast from a pole or the planting of bushes, he could determine the footage was shot in either April or August in 2018 at a train station west of the city of Korlawho.

“They take journalists and diplomats on very guided, very manicured tours around the region, to particular camps to highlight what they call progress and human rights in the region. However, this video undercuts that narrative and shows clearly the very inhumane treatment that detained individuals get in the system, in the crackdown that started in 2017 in western China,” he said.

A new report is warning the world that the five-year period ending in 2019 was the hottest on record, as the data supports a claim that the climate change is accelerating, with sea levels rising, carbon dioxide levels increasing, and ice sheets melting faster than ever before.

During the period, carbon dioxide grew 2 per cent in 2018, reaching a record high of 37 billion tonnes, assuring further warming, with emissions between 2015 and 2019 growing by 20 per cent compared with the previous five year.

The average global temperatures between 2015-2019 were on track to be the hottest of any five years on record, according to the report, highlighting that global temperatures have risen by 11 degrees Celsius since 1850, and have gone up by 2C between 2011 and 2019.

President Xi Jinping, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the powerful Central Military Commission, demanded ceaseless efforts to secure a great victory of socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era, making the remarks in Beijing during a visit to an exhibition of achievements in commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

He stressed that during the seven decades since the founding of the PRC, the CPC has led people across the country to overcome one obstacle after another, creating miracle upon miracle.

Mr. Xi said the historic achievements China has made in the past seven decades and the historic changes it has undergone fully demonstrate that only the CPC can lead China; only with socialism can we save China; only with reform and opening up can we develop China, develop socialism and develop Marxism; and only with the road of socialism with Chinese characteristics can we lead China toward prosperity and strength.

The remarks of Mr.Xi cannot help, but remind us of the words of our beloved 1st Muslim President, Grand Ayatollah Barak, “We must spread freedom around the world by reading our citizen’s emails” Obama, “May Allah shadow fall upon him,” except that the Uyghurs have blindfolds instead.
