Russia said on Monday it had built new barracks for troops on a disputed chain of islands near Japan and would build more facilities for armored vehicles, prompting a diplomatic protest from Tokyo, as Russia’s Ministry of Defense said it planned to shift troops next week into four housing complexes on two of the four disputed islands, known as the Southern Kurils in Russia and the Northern Territories in Japan.

The news came after the Kremlin said Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe might visit Russia on January 21 as part of efforts to defuse the territorial dispute that has prevented them from signing a World War II peace treaty.

Soviet forces seized the four islands at the end of World War II, and both Russia and Japan both claim sovereignty over them, with Russia’s Defence Ministry said troops and their families will move to the island December 25.

Japan’s defence ministry says 3,500 Russian troops are deployed on the two larger islands as part of a military build-up.

He admitted that he engaged in sexually explicit conversations with at least five minor male victims, ranging from 12 to 15 years old, and residing in various states, including Texas, Massachusetts, Iowa, Michigan, and Colorado. During his conversations with the boys, Taylor typically portrayed himself as a woman.

Taylor repeatedly requested that the boys send sexually explicit photos and videos of themselves engaging in sexually explicit conduct. Taylor posted some of the boys sexually explicit images of women, falsely claiming that they were photos of himself.

According to court filings and facts presented at the plea hearing, between March 2017 and the date of her attempted travel to Syria on July 31, 2017, the defendant engaged in a scheme to defraud numerous financial institutions.

Specifically, Shahnaz obtained a loan for approximately $22,500 by way of materially pretenses, representations, and promises. She also fraudulently applied for and used over a dozen credit cards, which she used to purchase approximately $62,000 in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies online. She then engaged in a pattern of financial activity, culminating in several wire transactions totaling over $150,000 to individuals and shell entities in Pakistan, China, and Turkey that were fronts for ISIS. During the time she was committing bank fraud and laundering money overseas, the defendant was accessing ISIS propaganda online, including violent jihad-related websites and message boards, and social media and messaging pages of known ISIS recruiters, facilitators and financiers.

The international human rights watchdog Human Rights Watch (HRW) and Argentine federal judge are currently assessing the crown prince Mohammed Bin Salman role in connection with alleged war crimes by the Saudi-led coalition in Yemen and his possible complicity in the alleged torture of Saudi nationals, including Jamal Khashoggi.

Prince Salman is expected to attend a G20 summit in Buenos Aires later this week.
