A news reporter in Los Angeles has now shared a graphic picture of an injured police officer after receiving permission for release from her family and local. The police are still searching for the suspect,  as the sheriff’s department has released a picture of him, taken on security camera, and issued a $100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

More than 1,000 National Guard troops will be deployed to Oregon to help the state fight ongoing wildfires, according to National Guard Adj. Gen. Mike Stencel statement during a press conference:

“By the end of today, the National Guard is looking at having almost 700 soldiers and airmen mobilized for this effort and by the end of the week that number will be exceeding 1,000 Guard members,” Stencel said , after Oregon Governor Kate Brown said that she has asked US President Donald Trump to declare a major disaster in the state as more than 30 wildfires burned through more than 935,000 acres in Oregon.

Tens of thousands of people in California, Oregon and Washington have been forced to evacuate amid the wildfires, with the death toll from the fires stands at ten in Oregon.

Hurricane Sally strengthened rapidly over the Gulf of Mexico on Monday, forcing President  Trump to issue an emergency declaration for parts of Louisiana and Mississippi, as weather forecasts showed that Hurricane Sally could approach major hurricane strength while nears the US Gulf Coast, already a Category 2 hurricane packing 100-mph winds, but forecasters said that sustained winds of approximately 110 mph are expected right before landfall. 

Residents from the low-lying areas of Louisiana and Mississippi have been ordered to evacuate ahead of the hurricane, and Alabama Governor Kay Ivey also declared an emergency, closing beaches and recommending evacuations from low-lying areas.

“We are going to bear the brunt of this storm,” Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves told residents on Monday, cautioning that rainfall forecasts along the coast could exceed 20 inches (50.8 cm).
