“We’re not going to leave until the border is secure,” said acting DOD Secretary Mr.Patrick Shanahan.

It’s about fixing a problem more quickly,” as the Pentagon transferred $1.5 billion from other programs including an Afghanistan-program to fund the construction of a US-Mexico border wall, in a bid to stop the deluge of migrants arriving at the US border that President Trump has called a crisis and declared a national emergency over.
Secretary Shanahan told Congress that as for now there are 4,364 US service members at the border, including both active-duty and National Guard troops, according to The Hill report, with 1,167 service members performing the primary role of monitoring and detection, a broader set of missions ranging from logistical support to aviation support and food service.

President Trump slammed a judge for blocking his policy of sending asylum seekers to Mexico to await court hearings in their cases.
“A 9th Circuit judge just ruled that Mexico is too dangerous for migrants,” he tweeted. “So unfair to the US.”
His policy would have returned migrant families back over the border as they seek a legal right to stay in the US, but the legal defeat comes as migrant numbers at the US-Mexico border surged to their highest since 2008.
Mr. Trump was said to be livid after US immigration officials estimated border apprehensions in March had topped 100,000.
The San Francisco ninth district judge’s order against the migrant policy is not due to go into effect until this Friday, giving US officials a chance to appeal.

A Canadian national, with a long history of criminal convictions in the U.S., was removed by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) for immigration violations and turned over to Canadian authorities where he is wanted on a narcotics conviction.
Sebastian Rosales entered the U.S. as a nonimmigrant visitor in 1988. He was arrested in Florida in 1993 for vehicle theft and burglary and sentenced to a year and a half of probation. It is unknown when he departed the U.S. for Canada. He attempted to reenter the U.S. again in 2000 but was denied entry based on his past criminal conviction.
Rosales reentered the U.S. at an unknown date and place without being inspected, admitted or paroled by a U.S. Immigration official.
“This individual’s long history of criminal activity, including selling drugs near school zones, show that he is a danger to the community who warranted removal from the US.”
Rosales was removed on April 3, 2019, accompanied by ICE officers, and transferred to Canadian authorities in Montreal
On January 24, 2019, an immigration judge in Elizabeth, NJ ordered Rosales removed to Canada
“Our officers’ dedicated and courageous efforts show our ongoing commitment to public safety.”
President Trump promised more than 500 miles of new wall along the southern US border, after threatening to slap Mexico with economic penalties over what he describes as a crisis of illegal immigration and drug trafficking, all along counting on seizing funds from other federal accounts to construct about 500 miles of new barrier, and considering imposing economic penalties on Mexico unless it helped alleviate migrant flows as a response to a rising number of illegal immigrants traveling to the US border.
Referring to a “colossal surge” of undocumented migrants, Mr. Trump convened a discussion with immigration officials and local leaders in Calexico on the US-Mexico border just north of the much larger city of Mexicali.
Before touring a just completed 18 foot-tall, about three miles barrier at Calexico, Mr. Trump said more military resources would be dispatched to the border.
“Our country is full,” Mr. Trump said, in a warning to would-be migrants.
