1…………> Tax Fraud: Nevada

Las Vegas, Nevada, tax return preparer Ofelia Ronquillo, 62, pleaded guilty for preparing fraudulent income tax returns for clients through a business known as A.R. Financial LLC and later AJRC Tax Services. Ronquillo included false items on her clients’ tax returns, including bogus charitable contributions, capital losses, and unreimbursed employee expenses—such as meals and transportation expenses, as well as claimed inflated refunds to which her clients were not entitled. Ronquillo admitted that she caused a tax loss of more than $2.7 million.

U.S. District Court Judge Andrew P. Gordon scheduled sentencing for May 17. Ronquillo faces a statutory maximum sentence of three years in prison for each count, as well as a period of supervised release, restitution and monetary penalties.

2…………> A Mexican Dream:
Yenizeth Arcubia

According to Mexico’s Secretariat of Social Development (Sedesol), 80% of the population of Guazapares lives below the poverty line, and half are considered to live in conditions of extreme poverty, giving young women no choice but to work hard on their studies while the young men go and work for the narcos.

One of those young women is Yenizeth Peña Arcubia from the Chihuahua town of Témoris, in Guazapares, who grew up in near extreme poverty, but very hard work and dedication led her to earning a bachelor’s, a passport for a bright future not only for herself, but other young people.
“I learned there that one should be humble and fight for what one wants. Many of those with me there had left [their hometowns] with enough cash for their ticket, but with a great desire to learn,” Yenizeth said as she continued her studies at the Autonomous University of Chihuahua and pursued a bachelor’s degree in ecological engineering.

3…………>Para Bailar, Para Soñar: El Mundo Carnaval

To celebrate the beginning of spring, a carnaval season is spreading across Europe and the Americas, unleashing an ocean of bright costumes, street dancing and celebrations of pre-Lent festivals, that are often a blend of local pagan and Catholic traditions.

In New Orleans, Mardi Gras marked the final day of the season in a city and this year marked its 300th anniversary as revellers took to the streets in elaborate or funny costumes evoking Marie Antoinette, Donald Trump and glamorous gnomes.

World’s largest and most famous extravaganza, the Carnival in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil paid a tribute to African culture, as the Salgueir samba school used blackface makeup in the Carnival parade.

4…………> T-cells: Keys To Immune System

Chinese scientists have successfully reprogrammed B cells into functional T cells in living organisms for the first time, which could be useful in immune therapy against tumors and AIDS someday.

A research project study led by the Guangzhou Institutes of Biomedicine and Health (GIBH) under the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), proved that Hoxb5, a transcription factor that regulates the genes in cells, can play a key role in generating functional T cells in vivo.

T cells are generated by hematopoietic stem cells, which give rise to all blood cells and immune cells in living organisms, giving Chinese scientists a reason to believe that their simple, efficient and economical way of generating T cells will contribute to biomedical studies in anti-tumor and anti-AIDS treatment in the future.

6…………> Final Offer: Trump

The Arkansas Republican Senator Tom Cotton co-sponsored the latest immigration reform bill, stating that is the “best and final offer” on the subject and the only legislation that President Donald Trump will sign into law.
