Chinese authorities say they will lift a two-month lockdown in most of Hubei province, where the coronavirus pandemic originated, as the number of cases eases, because of no new infections for more than a week, but the risk from overseas infections appears to be on the rise, China had 78 new cases on Monday, and Wuhan residents will soon be allowed to leave with a health tracking code
The Hubei Health Commission announced it would lift curbs on outgoing travellers starting on March 25, provided they had a health clearance code.
The provincial capital Wuhan, where the virus first appeared and which has been in total lockdown since January 23, will see its travel restrictions lifted on April 8.

President Trump said that the country is stepping up developing treatments for COVI-19 patients, including experiment on antimalarial drug and a blood-related therapy, with hydroxychloroquine being administered to 1,100 patients in New York along with Z-Pak, which is azithromycin:
“It’s very early yet, it only started two days ago, but we will see what happens”, he said.
The U.S. Food and rug Administration (FDA) is also allowing the emergency use of a blood-related therapy, called convalescent plasma, as an experimental treatment for seriously ill patients, Mr.Trump disclosed.
The therapy involves taking blood plasma from people who have recovered from COVID-19, then the sick patients will be transfused with the blood taken to boost their immune systems, and early results are good, he added.
Convalescent plasma that contains antibodies to SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, is possibly effective against the infection, as the country is also looking at an approval for sterilization of masks, and the FA authorized a new test on that delivers results in as quickly as five minutes.
The test by U.S. medical devices company Abbott Laboratories could deliver positive results in as little as five minutes and negative results in 13 minutes. The company said it expects to deliver 50,000 tests per day, beginning next week.

Russian scientists have apparently developed three antiviral drugs that can be used to treat COVID-19, a joint effort with researchers from the Russian Academy of Sciences, an announcement made by Academcian, vice president, and head of the biomedical sciences unit Mr. Vladimir Chekhonin.
He said that the antiviral drug triazavirin was created several years ago at the Institute of Organic Synthesis at the Urals branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences., and it is now tested by Chinese scientists for its ability to treat COVID-19:
“As of today, a special inhalant is ready, which can be used exclusively to treat viral respiratory infections. I am sure that it will be more than appropriate to treat COVI-19. And of course, having this option is extremely important in the current circumstances”.
