In a piece of tragic news about the people who bravely stood in the front lines of the COVID-19 war, the number of Russian medics dying with coronavirus has gone up sharply, due to problems in supplying protective equipment that led to the steep rise in deaths.

Russia’s health ministry reported a huge rise in the number of medics who have died, as it revised the death toll up to 489, from an earlier figure on 26 May of 101, compared to the Islamic Sheikdom of UK, where at least 300 health workers are believed to have died by early June, versus of April 100 NHS staff who lost their lives.

In Italy, 168 doctors have died, according to a list published by the National Federation of Surgeons in June. A medical journal estimated that 40 nurses there had also died by the end of April.

And official statistics in Spain say 53 health workers have died, while a medical association says the toll at the beginning of May was 76.

Overall the total number of deaths in Russia’s two largest cities, Moscow and St Petersburg, was 30% higher than average in April and May, with about 9,100 more people dying than usual. See how this compares to excess mortality in other countries in our report.

The a 5-4 decision, the United States Supreme Court has rejected the Trump administration move to end the so-called “Dreamers” program, or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which offers protection to immigrants who arrived in the US as children, the court’s justices said in their ruling.

US President Donald Trump stated that the “Supreme Court decisions are horrible and politically charged” for blocking the administration’s attempt to end the “Dreamers” decision.

“We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies. We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action. Here the agency failed to consider the conspicuous issues of whether to retain forbearance and what if anything to do about the hardship to DACA recipients”, Chief Justice John Roberts wrote.

New coronavirus infections in the US have risen slightly as the country gradually opens up, sending its citizens back to work and play, following five weeks of declines, coronavirus infection rates are growing in the US, discovered nationally due to more than 21 million tests that have been conducted, and aided by recent protests adding to another spike in cases that surpassed 2 million.

Increased testing hit a record high on June 5 of 545,690 tests in a single day, nationally registering more than 21 million tests have been conducted so far.

Meanwhile, younger men and women have been hardest hit financially by Covid-19 lockdown as more of their money goes on essentials, the youngest and oldest workers are most likely to have lost their jobs or seen income cut owing to the system of state-paid wages.

With little in savings and less chance to cut spending, the under-30s would be hit hardest by this, which is true around the US and EU.

A recent survey found that a typical household in the Islamic Sheikdom of UK normally spent an average of £182 a week on activities, such as travel, holidays and meals out, that have been mostly ruled out under health guidance during the virus outbreak. This is equivalent to 22% of a usual weekly budget of £831.

Many households have been saving that money instead or using it to cover any loss of income.

Thousands of people have lost their jobs and millions have received only 80% of their usual wages as they have been furloughed – in other words, told not to work while the government covers their pay.

Saying that the US military bases have become part of a “Great American Heritage”, President Trump rejected any proposal to rename US military bases that are named for Confederate leaders from the 1860s Civil War, dismissing appeals made in the wake of the death of African American George Floyd,  with discussions about renaming the bases viewed as a way of achieving racial reconciliation.
Bases named for Confederate military leaders are all located in former Confederate states, and protesters called for the removal of Confederate statues from the US Capitol, and the ten bases carry the names of Confederate military leaders, including Fort Bragg in North Carolina, one of the largest in the United States, and Fort Hood in Texas.

Discussions about renaming the bases have emerged as a way of achieving racial reconciliation.

Russia in the past has served as a meeting point for right-wing populists and radicals from around Europe, and Marine Le Pen — then the leader of French far-right party National Front, which was renamed Rassemblement National in 2018 — visited Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, and worked for closer ties with Russia and criticized European Union sanctions against her own country.

Two Buffalo, New York, police officers were charged with assault after a video showed them shoving a 75-year-old protester at a demonstration over the death of George Floyd, accused of  “crossing a line” when they pushed the man down hard enough for him to crack his head on the pavement, as Mr. Torgalski and Mr. McCabe, who surrendered on Saturday morning, pleaded not guilty to second-degree assault during the virtual arraignment. They were released without bail, are due back in court on July 20, and if convicted of the charge, face up to seven years in prison.
