LOS ANGELES – Special agents with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Los Angeles arrested a Redondo Beach man, identified as Billy Frederick, 51, on charges of producing child pornography, allegedly by developing a relationship with at least one boy in the Philippines who performed sex acts online in exchange for money.
He was arrested midweek without incident, following HSI’s investigation into the matter, and during his initial court appearance late afternoon, a U.S. magistrate judge ordered Frederick jailed without bond pending trial, as the criminal complaint naming Frederick was unsealed this afternoon.

A federal jury in the District of Columbia convicted a Maryland woman today for preparing three false tax returns for District of Columbia residents that claimed more than $1.1 million in fraudulent refunds, as Charese Johnson, of Aberdeen, Maryland, operated Prodigy Accounting Services and prepared false amended income tax returns in 2014 for three District of Columbia taxpayers. Those returns fraudulently claimed large refunds based upon fictitious refundable credits and phony withholdings that had never been paid to the IRS.
