According to the latest data update by the World Health Organization (WHO), the exact COVID-19 count is 1,699,595, registered in 213 countries and territories, with 85,679 new cases and 6,262 fatalities were registered in the past 24 hours, adding that at the moment, most infections — 880,106 cases — were registered in the European region.
The above statement contradicts Johns Hopkins University Corona-virus Resource Center data, showing the global number of COVID-19 cases has surpassed 1.8 million, with over 112,000 fatalities.
The US has registered 1,514 corona-virus deaths over the past 24 hours, and the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in the US has topped 555,000, with the death toll standing at over 22,000.
The United States currently has the largest number of both coronavirus cases and fatalities out of all the countries, followed by Spain (over 166,000 cases and more than 17,000 deaths) and Italy (over 156,000 cases and more than 19,800 deaths).
