A Chinese businesswoman was indicted by a federal grand jury Thursday on fraud charges for allegedly providing false verifications of employment for Chinese nationals seeking to stay in the United States on student and work visas.
Weiyun Huang, also known as “Kelly Huang,” 30, of Beijing, China, is charged with one count of conspiracy to commit visa fraud and five counts of visa fraud, according to an indictment returned July 25 in US District Court in Chicago.
Huang has been in federal custody since March after her arrest in the Northern District of California.
Her arraignment in federal court in Chicago has not yet been scheduled

When a prison riot broke out on in the northern Brazilian state of Para, fighting left at least 52 inmates dead, with 16 of them decapitated, as State authorities tried to quell the carnage that began at about 7:00am in the city of Altamira and involved two prison gangs.
Prisoners of the Comando Class A gang set fire to a cell containing inmates who belonged to the Comando Vermelho, or Red Command gang, Para’s State Government said in a statement.
The Red Command gang hails from Rio de Janeiro, but has expanded deep into the north and north-east of Brazil as it seeks to diversify its income stream.
Two guards were taken hostage as the groups battled one another, but they were later released.
