The National Rifle Association (NRA), which is headquartered in Fairfax, Virginia, recently came under fire by the office of New York Attorney General Letitia James after an 18-month investigation, accusing the gun rights group of being “fraught with fraud and abuse”, and now the NRA announced it is in the early stages of filing for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy judgment as part of a larger restructuring plan to leave New York and relocate its business to Texas, allowing organizations to continue operating while repaying creditors at reduced rates and over much longer periods of time. A petition is considered the first form submitted in declaring this form bankruptcy.

The firearms advocate explained in a statement that it would set up base in the Lone Star State as a nonprofit as a means of exiting what it complained was a “corrupt political and regulatory environment in New York” :
“The move will enable long-term, sustainable growth and ensure the NRA’s continued success as the nation’s leading advocate for constitutional freedom – free from the toxic political environment of New York,” the release stated, adding that despite the bankruptcy filing, the agency nonetheless described itself as being in the “strongest financial condition in years.”

(USFIA), and six other companies that used the same Arcadia address, from where he fraudulently promoted and solicited USFIA investments, and he ultimately obtained approximately $147 million from 72,000 victims, in one of the largest pyramid schemes ever prosecuted by the U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California.

“Taking measures to reduce transmission now can lessen the potential impact of B.1.1.7 and allow critical time to increase vaccination coverage,” it concluded.

The President’s personal lawyer Jay Sekulow and White House Council Pat Cipillione aren’t directly addressing Schiff’s arguments, but rather recycling a lot of the Republican talking points about the process of the impeachment investigation rather than the substance of it.
Some of their statements are false.

Schiff just finished talking, making an argument for why the Senate should vote against the organizing resolution or add amendments, focusing on 1) the need to call witnesses and 2) the need to admit additional evidence.

“The facts will come out in the end. The documents, which the president is hiding, will be released through the FOIA or through other means over time. Witnesses will tell their stories in book and film. The truth will come out. The question is, will it come out in time?”

The bulk of his points rest on the precedent set by Bill Clinton’s trial (which led to his acquittal).

Republicans have publicly said they’re aiming to follow the Clinton precedent, but there’s a key difference between the two trials, making it a bit like comparing apples to oranges.

In the Clinton case, the investigation into his misconduct (known as the Starr Report) was finished and made public before politicians started pushing for impeachment, let alone launch an impeachment inquiry.

In the case of Donald Trump, the investigation into the Ukraine scandal started after the Democrats launched the impeachment inquiry and happened on a much shorter timeline. Hence why evidence is still coming out.
