1…………> A New Moulin Rouge Star: Aussie Girl

Aussie girl Rhylee Hensler, 19, recently made a move to the world’s most romantic city, Paris, to join its most famous cabaret, the Moulin Rouge, an assignment that has been every young dancer’s dream and has even inspired a movie,  far away from her home of Cairns in far north Queensland,

However, behind the make-up, feathers, and crystals, it takes a lot of courage and determination, as well as hard work, to make it as a showgirl, being one of only three dancers to cut the Australian auditions and only a handful from across the world.

Moulin Rouge associate artistic director Janet Pharaoh had been looking for something specific, and Ms. Hensler, who started dancing at age 10, checked all the boxes.

“The girls must have strong classical dance training, be a minimum of 5 feet and 9 inches tall, or taller,” Ms. Pharaoh said.
“We also like them to have super figures, very long legs, and a fabulous personality.”

“I feel fortunate to be in Paris, a city that is just incredible,” Ms. Hensler said.
“My first show on the Moulin Rouge stage was incredible, so much fun and energy, and everyone who works at Moulin is so nice and friendly.”

2…………> Back Home: Korea MIA

North Korea has transferred the remains of an unspecified number of soldiers killed in the Korean War, the first step by Pyongyang to implement an agreement made in a landmark summit in Singapore after a formal repatriation ceremony is being held in Osan before the remains are flown to Hawaii.

The repatriation was held on the 65th anniversary of the 1953 armistice agreement, and North Korea could follow the return with a push to end the war formally

“Today, [Comrade Un] is fulfilling part of the commitment he made to the President to return our fallen American service members,” the White House said in a statement.
“We are encouraged by North Korea’s actions and the momentum for positive change.”

A US military transport plane flew to an airfield in North Korea’s north-eastern city of Wonsan to bring the remains to Osan air base in South Korea, then back to Hawaii.

2…………> Recovery Sites: US Air Force

QUANG NGAI PROVINCE, Vietnam (AFNS) — The day Army Sgt. 1st Class Tommy Murphy died is still engrained into his daughter’s mind.

It was April 7, 2001, and Tycoria Johnson was just 9 years old. On that Saturday, Murphy, along with six other American service members and nine Vietnamese counterparts, departed on an MI-17 helicopter to investigate a potential recovery site.
They were part of a Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency mission in search of the remains of fallen service members from the Vietnam War.
Her father was a team sergeant, she said, who supervised and did much of the planning for the team.

But as the weather worsened, the helicopter veered off course and collided with a mountain hidden by clouds in central Vietnam. No one survived.

Johnson, now a senior airman based in Japan, recently volunteered for a joint mission with DPAA, where her father once worked as a mortuary affairs specialist.

“He would talk about his missions a lot,” she said, recalling the videos he would show her of people digging at excavation sites. “I knew that he enjoyed it and I think he would be surprised that I actually signed up to do it.”

Happy Memorial Day! Those who died for our great country would be very happy and proud of how well our country is doing today. Best economy in decades, lowest unemployment numbers for Blacks and Hispanics EVER (& women in 18years), rebuilding our Military and so much more. Nice!

5…………> Applied Global Warming: Oman

The cyclone Mekunu with wind gusts of 125 mi/h dumped three years’ worth of rainfall in a single day and leaving 13 people dead in the Gulf country of Oman and neighbouring Yemen, deluging a major city leaving eight people are still missing.

The “extremely severe” cyclone left holiday destinations with empty tourist beaches, littered with debris and foam from the churning Arabian Sea.

The Port of Salalah remained closed, its cranes secured against the pounding rain and winds.
