    A blaze due to gas explosion sparked fires engulfing five buildings in a San Francisco neighborhood, shooting flames high into the air and forcing the evacuation of nearby apartments, when the fire erupted when private construction workers cut a natural gas line.

    The fire erupted when private construction workers cut a natural gas line in the Jordan Park neighborhood between Laurel Heights and the Richmond District, San Francisco Fire Chief Joanne Hayes-White said.

    Firefighters worked to keep the fire from spreading while Pacific Gas & Electric (PG&E) crews tried to shut off the natural gas line

    “It’s pretty dramatic, but we have pretty good handle on it,” she said.

    “Female genital mutilation is a global issue and we rely on our domestic and international partners as we work to eliminate this practice, [and] we continue to partner with the FBI, non-governmental organizations, and other government agencies to identify potential victims and find those who conduct female genital mutilation,” explained Unit Chief Mark Shaffer of ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center.

    February 6 marks the International Day of Zero Tolerance for Female Genital Mutilation, with the FBI, Human Rights and Special Prosecutions Section (HRSP) of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), all members of the Human Rights Violators and War Crimes Center (HRVWCC).

    Female genital mutilation or cutting (FGM C) is a federal crime, and any involvement in committing this crime is a serious human rights violation, which may result in imprisonment and potential removal from the United States.

    “The FBI is committed to investigating human rights violations, including female genital mutilation/cutting (FGM),” said Unit Chief Maureen Schutz of the FBI’s Criminal Division.

     Immigration and Customs Enforcement to protect the rights of young women and children and to bring justice to those who have violated them.

    5…………>Honduran Child Molester: Arrested Illegal At Re-entry

     

    Marvin Yovani Mejia-Ramos – aka Martin Jose Romos-Ramirez, aka Ricardo Rodriguez-Morales – 50, an illegal alien from Honduras who has used multiple aliases and countries of origin, previously convicted of multiple child sex offenses in 2007, was charged Wednesday with illegally re-entering the United States after he was deported in 2013.

    U.S. Magistrate Judge Dena Hanovice Palermo ordered Mejia-Ramos to remain in federal custody pending further criminal proceedings. If convicted, Mejia-Ramos faces up to 20 years in federal prison.

    Mejia-Ramos was arrested on Jan. 30, 2019, when authorities from the Montgomery County (Texas) Constable’s Office (Precinct 4) discovered his identity during a routine traffic stop in New Caney, Texas.

    In 2007, Mejia-Ramos was convicted in California of continuous sexual abuse and lewd act upon a child. He was sentenced to six years in prison; he was removed to Honduras following his release from prison in 2013.
