2…………> Mississippi Burning: Cross Burning

The Department of Justice today announced that Louie Bernard Revette pleaded guilty to federal charges related to his commission of a crossburning on Oct. 24, 2017, in Seminary, Mississippi.

Specifically, Revette, 37, pleaded guilty to one count of interference with housing rights, a federal civil rights violation, and one count of using fire during the commission of a federal felony.

“The defendant’s racially motivated actions sought to threaten and intimidate the peaceful residents of this community,” said Assistant Attorney Eric Dreiband of the Civil Rights Division.

“The Department of Justice will not tolerate abhorrent and hateful acts of intimidation, and we will continue to prosecute anyone who commits a hate crime to the fullest extent of the law.”

In his plea, Revette admitted that he traveled to what he knew to be a predominantly African-American residential area of Seminary, Mississippi. Revette admitted that he left the area, later recruiting a co-conspirator to build a cross to burn near the home of a juvenile victim identified as M.H. Revette and the co-conspirator constructed the cross using materials from in and around Revette’s residence, placed the cross near M.H.’s home, and lit it on fire. Revette further admitted that he built and burned the cross to threaten, frighten, and intimidate M.H. and other African-American residents because of their race and color, and because those individuals lived in and occupied residences in that area of Seminary, Mississippi. Revette acknowledged that he knew burning crosses have historically been used to threaten, frighten, and intimidate African-Americans.

Revette faces a maximum total sentence of 20 years in prison and a $500,000 fine on the two charges.

3…………> Trump Tweeting: Pelosi Shivering

President Trump is under criticism for a tweeted video edited to suggest Minnesota Democrat Ilhan Omar that was dismissive of the significance of the September 11 attacks, when speaking about the erosion Muslim-Americans’ civic liberties since 9/11.

Democrat presidential wannabe’s accused President Trump of playing politics, and Nancy “Fancy” Pelosi said it was wrong for Mr. Trump “to fan the flames to make anyone less safe”

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi said the President “shouldn’t use the painful images of 9/11 for a political attack” and implied the President could have compromised Ms. Omar’s safety.

Mr. Trump on Friday tweeted: “WE WILL NEVER FORGET!

4…………> Sweden’s Hound Dogs: After “Fox” Assange

Julian Assange may yet face rape charges in Sweden as the battle for extradition of the WikiLeaks founder heats up, after a lawyer for the injured party has requested the Swedish preliminary investigation concerning rape be resumed, and the Swedish Prosecutor said it would examine the case

Assange’s Swedish lawyer said the US’s extradition request would trump Sweden’s request, after he was arrested and dragged out of the Ecuadorian embassy in London , bringing an end to his seven-year stay after seeking asylum in 2012 to avoid extradition to Sweden over sexual assault charges leveled against him.

2…………> The Holy Google Inquisition: Answerable To No One

News sources say that “Google does manipulate its search results manually, contrary to the company’s official denials“, contradicting Google “CapoSundar Pichai, who insisted that the company’s employees do not manually intervene in any particular search result during his testimony before the US Senate Judiciary Committee in December 2018.

According to the records, the high tech firm maintains a blacklist preventing certain websites from appearing in search results. In the process the “Ares manual review tool” is being used, the documents say, which means that Google employees make decisions about what to include in search results.

“The deceptive_news domain blacklist is going to be used by many search features to filter problematic sites that violate the good neighbour and misrepresentation policies… The purpose of the blacklist will be to bar the sites from surfacing in any search feature or news product. It will not cause a demotion in the organic search results or de-index them altogether”, the leaked papers read, as quoted by the media outlet.

3…………> Deep State vs Assange: Deadly Poker Game

“The Justice Department is now seeking extradition and we’re going to bring Julian Assange to justice,” Vice President Mike Pence said about the United States actions to bring WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange to justice following his arrest by UK authorities in the Ecuadorian embassy in London.

“I think that the president always, as you and the media do, always welcomes information,” Pence said.

“But that was in no way an endorsement of an organization that we now understand was involved in disseminating classified information by the United States of America.”

On Thursday, UK police arrested Assange in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London after Quito withdrew his asylum privilege. Assange is facing a potential extradition to the United States, where he is wanted for conspiracy to commit computer intrusion for agreeing to break a password to a classified US government computer.

After the arrest, Trump told reporters he did not know anything about WikiLeaks and had no opinion about Assange’s arrest in London.

4…………> A Warning From Hackers Anonymous: Assange Arrest

“Let Assange free or you will pay!” — this is the grim warning issued by the hacker group Anonymous to the “captors” of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange, who was arrested on 11 April at the Ecuadorian Embassy in London by UK police “on behalf of the United States authorities”.

“This is a message for the UK government and their cohorts around the world who are working to silence whistleblowers. […] This arrest and the greater persecution of Wikileaks and other whistleblowers sends a clear message that these governments will stop at nothing to maintain their secrecy. […]”, the hacktivists wrote.

In a lengthy message, Anonymous highlighted that Assange is considered to be an “enemy of the state” because he has brought to light the crimes of both the left and the right.

“Influential people representing the governments of the UK, the United States, and Ecuador have all signed off on this unprecedented attack on journalism. […] Every single powerful person who has signed off on this order should be shaking in their boots, because the force of the internet is about to be unleashed upon them. All the way from the CIA, the President of the United States, and down to the arresting officers that carried Assange out of the embassy, you have all exposed yourselves as enemies of the people and it is time for Anonymous to act accordingly”, the group warned.

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange was apprehended in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London on 11 April after Quito revoked his seven-year political asylum for alleged repeated “violations of international conventions”.

The whistleblowing website has criticized Ecuador’s move, calling it a violation of international law.

2…………> Romanian Requiem: Infected Computers

A federal jury today convicted two Bucharest, Romania, residents of 21 counts related to their scheme to infect victim computers with malware in order to steal credit card and other information to sell on dark market websites, mine cryptocurrency and engage in online auction fraud, announced Assistant Attorney General Brian A. Benczkowski of the Justice Department’s Criminal Division and U.S. Attorney Justin E. Herdman of the Northern District of Ohio.

Bogdan Nicolescu, 36, and Radu Miclaus, 37, were convicted after a 12-day trial of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to traffic in counterfeit service marks, aggravated identity theft, conspiracy to commit money laundering and 12 counts each of wire fraud.  Sentencing has been set for Aug. 14, 2019 before Chief Judge Patricia A. Gaughan of the Northern District of Ohio.

According to testimony at trial and court documents, Nicolescu, Miclaus, and a co-conspirator who pleaded guilty, collectively operated a criminal conspiracy from Bucharest, Romania.  It began in 2007 with the development of proprietary malware, which they disseminated through malicious emails purporting to be legitimate from such entities as Western Union, Norton AntiVirus and the IRS. When recipients clicked on an attached file, the malware was surreptitiously installed onto their computer.

3…………> Santa Assange Guilty: Bail Jumping

A judge in London found WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange guilty of jumping his bail at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, after he was taken from the Ecuadorian embassy by British police.

He sought asylum at the London embassy for six years, fearing US extradition, and now victorious US plans to extradite Assange related to conspiracy charges about data leaks.

Judge Michael Snow convicted him of skipping bail:

“His assertion that he has not had a fair hearing is laughable,” Justice Snow said.

“And his behaviour is that of a narcissist who cannot get past his own self-interest.”

Assange faced sexual assault allegations in Sweden when he sought asylum in the Ecuadorian Embassy in London 2012, fearing extradition to the US.
