George Sorbane Quotes:

1. “Hey Americans,” he screamed furiously at the drones.

“Brothers of the wolf, sisters of the wind, children of the Sun! Send the Choctaw warrior a quick and merciful death, instead of abandoning us into slavery or shameful capture.”―  “Ziban Must Die”

2…………> Typhoon Hagibis: Biggest Japan Storm In Decades

The storm is now moving up the eastern coast of Japan’s main island, with wind speeds of 140mph, leaving more than 270,000 homes without power, and Kyodo News agency said five deaths had been confirmed in different areas, 11 people are reported missing, and more than 90 had been reported injured.

As least five people are reported dead and others are missing as Japan endures what could be its worst storm for 60 years, as the eye of Typhoon Hagibis made landfall shortly before 19:00 local time (10:00 GMT), in Izu Peninsula, south-west of Tokyo.

“Unprecedented heavy rain has been seen in cities, towns and villages for which the emergency warning was issued,” JMA forecaster Yasushi Kajiwara told a press briefing.

More than seven million people have been urged to leave their homes amid severe flood and landslide warnings, but it is thought only 50,000 are staying in shelters.

A man in his 60s was found dead in an inundated apartment in Kawasaki, south-west of Tokyo, while a woman fell into a waterway and drowned in Tochigi, Kyodo said.

4…………> Turkey Troops Fire At US Post Near Kobani – Report

US troops came under fire from Turkish positions near the Syrian city of Kobani, all in the heat of the battle of military operation against Daesh, and the Kurdish-led forces that are considered by Ankara to be terrorists, but Turkish Defense Minister General Hulusi Akar said he is coordinating efforts with the United States, and denied accusations that Ankara deliberately targeted US forces in the region.

“That’s not something we ever would have done to a partner force”, a US source said, adding that Turkish forces knew there were Americans on the hill and that it had to be deliberate.

According to an earlier Pentagon statement, Turkish shells “exploded a few hundred meters of a location outside the Security Mechanism zone and in an area known by the Turks to have US forces present.”

2…………> Trump Golf With Abe: Awards Sumo Champion

President Trump contradicted his national security adviser and downplayed recent North Korean missile tests, tweeting from Tokyo they did not concern him, [because] “North Korea fired off some small weapons”, derided political rival “Sleepy” Joe Biden, played golf with his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, and sat ringside at a sumo wrestling match where he awarded a special Trump trophy to the winner.

North Korea this week labelled Mr. Biden a “fool of low IQ” and an “imbecile bereft of elementary quality as a human being” after the US presidential hopeful accused Mr. Trump of cozying up to “dictators and tyrants” like Mr. Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin.

3…………> Mount Agung Erupts: A Sky Of Smog And Dust

Indonesia’s national disaster agency said an eruption by Mount Agung volcano that lasted four minutes and 30 seconds spread lava and incandescent rocks about two miles from the crater, sending cloud of  thick ash over the south of the island, and forcing Bali’s airport to cancel flights.

Mt. Agung became active again in 2017 after more than a half century of inactivity, with eruptions last year causing havoc with flights, disrupting travel for tens of thousands. In July, one eruption ejected a 1400 feet column of ash into the air and hurled lava down the volcano’s slopes.

5…………> Trouble In NATO Family: US Sanctions On Turkey

The US government has been applying pressure on Turkey for months, with President Trump criticizing the purchase of the Russian-made S-400 anti-aircraft defense system a number of times, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has even threatened sanctions, as Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar saying troops are already receiving S-400 training for using the missile defense system that is to be delivered during late summer.

A reason for the hard position of Turkey is the price tag of $2.5 billion for two batteries, rendering  the anti-aircraft defense system cheaper than that of the US, with the S-400 believed to be extremely advanced and efficient, having multiple functions and a range of 250 miles, able to engage targets at a height of up to 40 miles.
