Two US House of Representatives members, Mark Meadows (R-NC) and Jim Jordan (R-OH), announced they had filed a resolution to impeach Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, who is overseeing Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s probe into alleged Russian meddling in the US election system. Meadows announced the resolution filing via Twitter, saying “we have had enough.”

The resolution has nine co-sponsors since this is not a privileged resolution that doesn’t have to be acted on quickly, fully supported by President Trump who has made his resentment toward Rosenstein an open secret. Not surprisingly, both Meadows and Jordan are “shadow banned” on Twitter, a practice used by “Deep State,” Silicon Valley “Obama Lapdogs” Barron’s that have made searching for individual accounts on the social media site via the drop-down menu virtually impossible.

Social Media watchdog Vice News published an expose of shadow-banning in practice recently. In the press release distributed Wednesday night, the lawmakers said:

“The impeachment articles come as evidence continues to mount regarding the Department of Justice’s questionable decision-making during the 2016 campaign and conduct surrounding the transition to President Trump’s administration in 2017. The impeachment articles are the result of nearly nine months of unsuccessful Congressional attempts to force the Department of Justice (DOJ) to comply with oversight requests. The failures cited within the articles include intentionally withholding embarrassing documents and information, knowingly hiding material investigative information from Congress, various abuses of the FISA process, and failure to comply with Congressional subpoenas, among others.”

The interior ministers of Italy and Austria who called for refugees to be processed onboard ships rather than brought to shore in Europe, an action based on a proposal by Italy to carry out processing at sea referred to at the time as “floating reception centres,” was not adopted by the European Commission in 2016.

However, the idea has gained traction again in Italy and Austria because of the strong anti-immigrant and refugee policies of Italy and Austria’s new far-right governments, as leaders have expressed open admiration for Australia’s approach to stopping the boats.

Both Australia (under enhanced screening) and the US (under the migrant interdiction program) have carried out quick processing at sea for some years under heavy criticism.

States must carry out processing under international law because they have a responsibility to protect refugees, people at risk of torture, and anyone at risk of cruel and inhuman or degrading treatment or punishment, from being returned to harm (known as “refoulement”).(ABC)

The Senate has given a woman who accuses Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault until Friday to decide if she will testify, as Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley sent a letter setting the 21 September deadline to Christine Blasey Ford’s lawyers.

Judge Kavanaugh, 53, has firmly denied the allegation, and has been meeting with White House officials this week.

Prof Ford declined to testify unless the FBI begins investigating the judge, and her lawyers said the California psychology lecturer is receiving death threats and has had to move out of her home.

Judge Kavanaugh, 53, has rejected the claim “completely false,” and the Senate Judiciary Committee has called on both him and Prof Ford to testify; either publicly or in a closed-door session – next Monday.

President Donald Trump slammed the New York Times article as “treason” and promised to find the “sick person” behind it. The list of White House officials that could be behind the highly critical opinion piece in The New York Times has been narrowed down to a “few” individuals, according to an anonymous source in the presidential administration.

The source also revealed that Trump is “obsessed” with finding the person responsible for writing the article, and considering whether Attorney General Jeff Sessions should launch an investigation. He explained that the person responsible for the article could have security clearance and access to classified meetings, and White House adviser Kellyanne Conway noted the same day that the president believes the author of the opinion piece may be an official from the national security sector of the US government.
