HONOLULU – A Big Island man, identified as Jonathan Tai, 36, of Kurtistown who was arrested at his home late this week, following the execution of a search warrant at that location, appeared in U.S. District Court Monday to face methamphetamine and firearm charges, following an investigation by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Hawaiʻi County Police, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service.
“Mr. Tai is a clear danger to our community,” said John F. Tobon, Special Agent in Charge for HSI Honolulu.
“I’m proud of the diligent work by our agents and the cooperation of our federal, state, and local partners to bring these charges.”
