U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), working jointly with the Caribbean Corridor Strike Force (CCSF) partners, seized 2,325 pounds of cocaine Oct. 13, from a go-fast vessel near Las Paulinas Beach in the municipality of Luquillo. The cocaine has an estimated street value of $29.6 million.

“HSI is committed to working with our federal, state and local counterparts to stop the movement of contraband in the Caribbean,” said Iván J. Arvelo, special agent in charge of HSI San Juan.

“Those involved in drug trafficking should know that the Caribbean is no longer an option to transship narcotics into the United States.” On Oct. 13, ICE’s Border Enforcement Security Task Force (BEST) agents, along with CCSF partners responded to Las Paulinas Beach to investigate the landing of an abandoned go-fast vessel with multiple bales of what appeared to be contraband. A field test yielded positive results for cocaine. In collaboration with the Coast Guard and U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers they recovered 48 bales of cocaine weighing 1057 kilograms with an approximate street value of more than $29 million. HSI Evidence Recovery Team (ERT) responded and assisted BEST and CCSF officers in the evidence collection.

The United States of America, through its Departments of Justice, Treasury, and State announced today a series of measures to target and dismantle the Cartel Jalisco Nueva Generacion (CJNG) – one of the largest, most dangerous drug cartels currently operating in Mexico. These measures include the unsealing of 15 indictments, the State Department’s approval of substantial rewards, the Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) designations, and the establishment of a citizen tip-line. CJNG is one of the most powerful cartels in Mexico and the Department of Justice considers it to be one of the five most dangerous transnational criminal organizations in the world, responsible for trafficking many tons of cocaine, methamphetamine and fentanyl-laced heroin into the United States, as well as for violence and significant loss of life in Mexico.

Founded in 2011, CJNG has grown in size and strength rapidly since its inception. Today, the DEA estimates the CJNG exerts influence in 23 of 31 (75%) of Mexican states, including central drug production and transportation corridors. CJNG is a powerful drug cartel in Mexico as a result of the organization’s disciplined command and control, sophisticated money laundering techniques, efficient drug transportation routes, and extreme violence. The cartel has also expanded globally, with significant presence and illegal business not only throughout the United States and Mexico, but also Europe, Asia, and Australia.

“We will continue to hammer transnational criminal organizations like the Cartel de San Jalisco Nueva Generacion, or CJNG,” said Attorney General Sessions.

“The DEA has said for three years in a row that Mexican drug cartels are the single gravest drug threat that this country faces. President Trump recognizes this, and the day I was sworn in as Attorney General, he ordered me to dismantle transnational criminal organizations, including the cartels. We have been faithful to that order. Today, I am announcing 15 indictments returned against the leaders of CJNG. These indictments are our next steps—but not our last. We will continue following President Trump’s order.”

President Trump has escalated his war of words against America’s central bank, the invisible, illegal, answerable to no one real “Deep State” true government of the US, calling the Federal Reserve his “biggest threat.”

The Fed maintains the economy is strong enough to handle the increases, by gradually raising its benchmark rate since 2015, aiming to shift rates away from the ultra-low levels puts in place during the financial crisis and recession to spur economic activity.

Before becoming president, Mr. Trump said the Fed should be moving faster, accusing it of keeping rates artificially low to help then President Barack Obama, but lately his position has changed since he assumed office.

In the Fox interview, he said: “My biggest threat is the Fed because the Fed is raising rates too fast.It’s independent, so I don’t speak to [Federal Reserve chair Jerome Powell], but I’m not happy with what he’s doing,” he added.

Gold down to 1227.50 and USD/CHF at 0.98 due to President Trump setting tariffs on Chinese products. Translation? As the dollar goes down, we have to wait and see if the new Fed Chair Jerome Powell will continue pressuring gold and the Eurasian block with it down below $1000/oz in an economic WW3.  We have to wait and see if new Fed chair Powell will attempt to destroy Eurasian block by sending gold prices below 1000, despite the fact both Russia and China have been buying their whole gold production in local gold backed currency instead of money printing machines. In other words, US has lost controls of the precious metals complex, and with Trump’s infrastructure and tax cut campaign the National debt will soon be at, or over 30 trillion dollars, since D.C. swamp alligators have no intention dropping their pet projects. With drums of war beating loudly by the day, and China’s Mr.Xi inspecting PLA troops in preparation for “mobilization” according to Xinhua, no wonder that a strike group including aircraft carrier USS Carl Vinson (CVN 70), Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 2, guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Champlain (CG 57) and guided-missile destroyers USS Wayne E. Meyer (DDG 108) and USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112) from Destroyer Squadron 1, manned by more than 6,000 Sailors departed the U.S. West Coast Jan. 4-5, for a regularly scheduled deployment to the Western Pacific.

But, not content with that, his hands-on contributions continued long after the last of his six spaceflights — a world record at the time of his retirement from the cockpit,” acting NASA Administrator Robert Lightfoot said in a statement. 

 
“It would be hard to overstate the impact that John Young had on human space flight. Beyond his well-known and groundbreaking six missions through three programs, he worked tirelessly for decades to understand and mitigate the risks that NASA astronauts face. He had our backs,” Johnson Space Center Director Ellen Ochoa, a former astronaut herself agreed on the historical accomplishments of the one of US earliest space pioneers.
 
Astronaut John Young, a man who walked on the Moon during Apollo 16 and commanded the first space shuttle mission, died Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at the age of 87 from complications of pneumonia.

An Sanchi oil tanker, a Panama-registered vessel carrying 136,000 tonnes of Iranian oil, and a cargo ship collided off China’s east coast on Saturday evening, leaving blazing fire and thirty-two people Iranian crew members missing.

“Sanchi is floating and burning as of now. There is an oil slick and we are pushing forward with rescue efforts,” China’s Ministry of Transport said.

While the Northern Hemisphere regions are hit by freezing “bomb cyclone”, sending temperatures well below historic records, “Down Under” Australian city of Sydney is experiencing its hottest weather in 79 years with temperatures in the region hitting as high as 117F, as western city Penrith residents sweltered and bore the brunt of the heat. 

Sunday’s temperatures fell short of the scorching heat to hit the area in 1939, when the mercury reached 118.04F, just months before the beginning of WW2.
