President Erdogan told Trump about Turkey’s legitimate security concerns caused by the presence and actions in Syria of the terrorist organization PKK/PYD/YPG in a phone conversation, as both discussed bilateral issues and recent developments, including security issues and counter-terrorism efforts, according to a Turkish presidential statement.
Erdogan also said that within days Turkey would launch an operation in Syria, east of the Euphrates, near Turkey’s borders, to clear the region of PKK/YPG terrorists.
Turkey has long decried the US and the EU — has been responsible for the deaths of some 40,000 people, including women and children, with cooperation with the PKK/PYD/YPG as Washington calling them “allies” against Daesh — telling the US counterpart Donald Trump on Friday agreed on the need for more effective coordination over Syria, said an official statement.

Security forces of the Islamic Sheikdom of France shot dead Strasbourg terror suspect Cherif Chekkat, 29, during a police operation on Lazaret Street, according to reports.
French Interior Minister Christophe Castaner is expected to make a statement, following gunman opening fire at a Christmas market in Place Kleber square before leaving the scene, killing two and injuring over 12 people.
Police said security forces raided the suspect’s house but failed to find him.

Washington accused China of conducting industrial espionage by stealing the secrets of American companies, with Beijing hackers using a “suite of custom Internet pirating tools” to take the schematics of a supersonic anti-ship missile developed for US submarines among other things.
China has vehemently denied the accusations on multiple occasions, claiming that it’s not responsible for cyberattacks, despite leaving “fingerprints” allegedly pointing at, specifically to the island province of Hainan, due to an accidentally exposed IP address.
The amount of security breaches allegedly performed by Chinese hackers has significantly increased over the last 18 months, penetrating the computer systems of a number of US Navy contractors of various sizes, stealing vast amounts of data, ranging from ship maintenance details to missile schematics.
