“The measure cleared on an 87-12 vote and marks a major bipartisan victory for President Trump, who had pressured GOP leaders to pass it this year, before lawmakers closed down Congress . . . Dubbed the First Step Act, the legislation would expand prison programs designed to reduce recidivism and allow some prisoners to earn credits toward early release by taking part in those programs”.

A statement about President Trump’s decision to withdraw US troops from Syria:

“Eight months later, in April 2018, President Trump announced that “over the last year, nearly 100 percent of the territory once controlled by the so-called ISIS caliphate in Syria and Iraq has been liberated and eliminated.

Today, the President is honoring his promise. “As other nations step up their contributions, we look forward to the day when we can bring our warriors home,” he said in April. This morning, Press Secretary Sarah Sanders announced that “we have started returning United States troops home as we transition to the next phase of this campaign.”

The Global Coalition against ISIS will not end. “The United States and our allies stand ready to re-engage at all levels to defend American interests whenever necessary.”

Now Mr. George H.W.Bush has passed away, a new, soft side of his endless humanity has surfaced, as a charity has revealed the secret exchanges the former US President and a Filipino boy he sponsored over a 10-year period, using a pseudonym and the boy, seven when the sponsorship started, had no idea who he was.

Bush, under the name George Walker, helped to fund education and meals, and the boy, Timothy, learned his mentor’s identity when he left the scheme at 17 and was stunned, the charity, Compassion International said.

“Dear Timothy, I want to be your new pen pal”, Bush said in his first letter in 2002, using the pseudonym, a combination of his first and third names.

“I am an old man, 77 years old, but I love kids; and though we have not met I love you already”, he wrote.

“I live in Texas – I will write you from time to time – Good Luck”.

 We have to wait and see if new Fed chair Powell will attempt to destroy Eurasian block by sending gold prices below 1000, despite the fact both Russia and China have been buying their whole gold production in local gold backed currency instead of money printing machines.
