Following the attack on former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia, the subsequent murder of UK citizen Dawn Sturges and the severe injury of her partner by being exposed to a perfume bottle spiked with the nerve pathogen Novichok, President Putin has issued an executive order to open the previously ‘closed administrative-territorial formation’ of Shikhany in Saratov Region, about 930 km southeast of Moscow.
The town of about 5,500 was the center of the Soviet R&D center for the USSR’s chemical weapons program, and now the British media have alleged that the so-called Novichok nerve agent was developed at Shikhany, a charge town Mayor Andrei Tatarinov denied.
“Claims that ‘Novichok’ was manufactured here, in Shikhany, are absurd. We perceive it as a lie, as a hoax,” he said.

In an interview with technology website “Recode”, Mr. Zuckerberg said that he did not believe such people should be removed from the site, despite the fact that many have been censored or removed, leading to some people to jokingly label his tactics as the “Zuckerberg Gestapo”.
They were not, he said, “intentionally” getting their facts wrong, infuriating his critics, causing a backlash and forcing Mr. Zuckerberg to issue a clarification.
