2…………> IMF Chair: Gloomy Economic Forecasts Too Optimistic?
.
International Monetary Fund (IMF) managing director Dr. Kristalina Georgieva is describing the daunting task of coordinating economic policy across the globe, facing an invisible enemy that behaves in unknown ways to deliberately undermine the very way economies work, a tricky challenge fire fighting service battling multiple infernos, almost everywhere.
Only three months ago, the IMF’s January economic forecast update projected that the base unit of living standards – the per person size of the economy or GP per capita – would be going up in 160 countries. That would have meant 82% of nations becoming better off in 2020, but they have changed their tune:
“We are projecting 170 countries to see income per capita shrinking during 2020, I want to stress this may be actually a more optimistic picture than reality produces. Epidemiologists are now helping us making macroeconomic projections. Never in the history of the IMF have we had that. And what they’re telling us is that the novel coronavirus is a big unknown, and we don’t know whether it may return in 2021. It is the time that governments should spend as much as they can afford and more, but keep the receipts. We don’t want to lose accountability and transparency during this crisis”, she said.

3…………> ‘Hold China Accountable’ For COVID-19 Outbreak: US
..
US officials and the intelligence community apparently have ruled out the possibility of the COVID-19 pathogen being man-made, but now the chase by intelligence analysts is to create an accurate picture of what happened during the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak.
United States authorities’ interest in allegations of the origins of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic lying in a virology laboratory in China’s Wuhan has now turned into a “full scale investigation”, using open source and classified data to focus on the work conducted in the lab by a certain Dr. Shi Zhengli, which was related to antivirals and immunizations for coronavirus, specifically with bats.

4…………> Uncle Don’s “Deplorable” Supporters To ‘Liberate’ States: Governor’s Cries For Help
.
Many Americans in regions that have not seen major outbreaks have urged governors to reopen their states, gathering outside state government buildings across the country, as members of both parties have called for federal assistance with testing, so businesses can reopen.
A day after rolling down a road map to gradually reopen the crushed US economy, Mr. Trump fired a salvo of tweets with the kind of rhetoric some of his supporters have used in demanding the lifting of the orders that have thrown millions of Americans out of work:
“Liberate Minnesota! Liberate Michigan! Liberate Virginia, and save your great 2nd Amendment. It is under siege!” he said, The shutdowns have inflicted heavy damage on economies around the world.
In the US, the crisis has cost at least 22 million Americans their jobs, pushing the unemployment rate toward levels not seen since the Great Depression.

5………..> “Sleeping Uncle Joe” vs Bernie “Sandanista” Sanders: Super Tuesday Decider?
.
Super Tuesday may very well decide the Democratic nominee in the 2020 US presidential election, as more primaries are held than on any other day. Two big Super Tuesday states are California and Texas, where candidates are courting the Latino vote.
