After an  inspection in 2018 engineer’s report highlighted “a major error” in the original design of the apartment block that collapsed near Miami, Florida, an error which has just been made public, alleging the fault prevented water draining from the base of the seafront Champlain Towers, hence part of the building collapsed last week while many residents slept.
Hopes are fading for the 159 people still unaccounted for, and so far, five deaths have been confirmed.

Four people have been killed and one more is in a critical condition following a hot air balloon hitting a power line in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after the basket the passengers were riding in detached from the balloon and crashed, as witnesses described seeing the balloon fall to the ground in a completely deflated state. The incident cut off power to more than 13,000 people in the area, and the balloon hit the power line just after 07:00 (13:00 GMT) on the weekend, according to police spokesman.

In “No New UFO News” the US government has said it has no explanation for dozens of unidentified flying objects seen by military pilots, after a Pentagon report released about the 144 reports made about the phenomena since 2004, all but one remain unexplained, as does not rule out the possibility that the objects are extra-terrestrial.
Congress demanded the report after the US military reported numerous instance of objects seen moving erratically in the sky.

The attack in the Bavarian city that left three people dead forced investigators to look into whether was driven by psychiatric problems or radicalization, and the suspect in southern Germany gruesome crime has been remanded in custody on suspicion of murder.
Authorities are still investigating a possible motive for the stabbing spree in the Bavarian city of Würzburg, around 74.5 miles east of Frankfurt.

A 12-story residential building collapsed early this week in the Floridian town of Surfside, destroying 55 of the apartments and prompting a bevy of first responders to be dispatched to the area, as rescuers have evacuated dozens, unfortunately many remain unaccounted for.
Law enforcement officials in Miami, Florida, revealed in their latest update to reporters that 99 people remain unaccounted for after the Surfside building collapsed in the area.
To date, officials have indicated that the partial building collapse killed at least one individual and injured 10 others. However, officials have also stressed that an official tally of injuries and fatalities remain unclear as the situation is still “fluid.”

EL PASO – A multi-agency effort, led by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), has resulted in the recovery of 24 missing and/or runaway children throughout El Paso County and Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
The following agencies assisted in the effort, dubbed Operation Lost Souls: El Paso Police Department, El Paso Sheriff’s Office, Socorro, Ysleta and El Paso Independent School District Police departments, U.S. Marshals Service, El Paso County Juvenile Probation Department, Ysleta Del Sur Tribal Police Division, Texas Anti-Gang Center, the Border Prosecution Unit for the District Attorney’s Office for the 34th Judicial District, El Paso County Attorney’s Office, Texas Department of Family and Protective Services, and the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Parole Division.
The week-long operation conducted in mid-May is ongoing. The Paseo Del Norte Center of Hope, the El Paso Center for Children Youth Outreach & Housing Division and Drop-in Center also assisted.

ATLANTA – A Georgia man has been arrested on criminal charges related to allegations that he lied during the Naturalization process, including failing to disclose his participation in political persecution during the 1970s Ethiopian Red Terror campaign.
According to the indictment – which was unsealed following the arrest – Mezemr Abebe Belayneh, 65, of Snellville, served as a civilian interrogator at a makeshift prison in Dilla, Ethiopia, during a period in the late 1970s known as the Red Terror. At the prison, Abebe allegedly ordered and participated in the severe physical abuse and interrogation of prisoners based on their political beliefs. The indictment alleges that Abebe unlawfully procured U.S. citizenship, to which he was not entitled, by concealing his involvement in the Red Terror when he falsely claimed that he had not persecuted anyone because of their political opinions and had never committed a crime for which he had not been arrested.
