“There is no hope of finding survivors among the [missing] 29 members of the crew,” Iran’s maritime agency chief Mahmoud Rastad said on state television, as the stricken tanker, Sanchi, drifted into Japan’s exclusive economic zone and “suddenly ignited” and finally sunk, according to Chinese state media reports.
A video of the tragedy that took the lives of the Iranian crew showed flames off the burning ship rising between 2500 to 3,000 feet in the air when leftovers of some 1 million burning barrels of condensate, an ultra-light crude oil caught on fire.

An unidentified vertical flying object, caught on camera by a Mexican woman who can be heard asking “What is that?” in the background as she films, has sparked a heated debate on “YouTube”, as social media users were confused by the “out of this world” pair of videos showing what appears to be an odd UFO hovering over the skies above Mexico and Texas.
Was it a piece of dirt or even bird excrement on a window, a set of old, deflating balloons, or the jetpack of fictional billionaire Tony Stark himself in his famous Iron Man suit?

President Trump’s former campaign manager Paul Manafort has sued Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, accusing Deputy AG Rosenstein of exceeding his legal authority to “grant Mr. Mueller carte blanche to investigate and pursue criminal charges in connection with anything he stumbles across”,  and asked the court to have the case against Mr. Manafort dismissed. 

“The investigation has focused on Mr. Manafort’s offshore business dealings that date back to as early as 2005 — about a decade before the Trump presidential campaign launched,” the lawsuit said. 

A spokesman for Mr. Mueller’s office declined to comment.

President Xi Jinping who is also general secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission (CMC), instructed the armed forces to strengthen real combat training and improve its war-winning capability. 


It was the first time for the commission to hold a mobilization meeting for the whole armed forces where Mr. Xi urged the armed forces to implement the spirit of the 19th CPC National Congress and the CPC’s thought on building a strong army in the new era. 

At 10:00 a.m., Xi ascended to the review stand in military uniform at the main venue where more than 7,000 armed officers and soldiers, as well as nearly 300 sets of armaments, formed up in line at a range of the Central Theater Command. 

Elsewhere, over 4,000 branch venues were designated to listen to Xi’s instruction.

 Some 450 people were arrested in the last three days rioting in Iran’s capital, Tehran, at least nine people have been killed in new clashes between Iran’s security forces and anti-government protesters, including six civilians who attacked a police station in the central city of Qahdarijan and tried to take weapons, and a member of Iran’s paramilitary Revolutionary Guard was also reportedly gunned down in the city of Najafabad, also located in Isfahan. 


The latest deaths come amid country-wide protests that started December 26 following a hike in food prices. At least 12 people were reportedly killed before the latest clashes, putting the total death toll at 21.

Clearly infuriated by his “Deep State” Justice Department where a host of officials including AG Sessions have openly refused to cooperate with Rep. David Nunes Congressional subpoenas on Clinton’s conspiracies and the “Fake News Trump Dossier”, President Trump renewed his attack on a top aide to 2016 election rival Hillary Clinton campaign, demanding that she should be jailed.

In an early-morning tweet he lashed out at former Clinton aide Huma Abedin, whose forwarded emails were released by the State Department on Friday and were determined to have contained a classified information and passwords directed to a private account. President Trump also said in his tweet that the Justice Department must act on “Comey and others,” and has repeatedly criticized Attorney General Jeff Sessions numerous times for recusing himself from supervising the Russia investigation, and claimed to have the right to direct government investigations himself.

Last week, Trump asserted in a New York Times interview that he had the “absolute right to do what I want to do with the Justice Department.”

Is someone down the hallway from AG Sessions office about to get fired? Perhaps Sessions himself?
