The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported it had detected an earthquake in the South Atlantic with a magnitude of 7.5 on the Richter scale, but no tsunami warning has been issued. According to USGS data, the earthquake occurred deep in the Earth’s crust, at a depth of 63 kilometers. Its location was about 100 kilometers northeast of Montagu Island, part of the South Sandwich Islands, or 2,150 kilometers southeast of Stanley in the Falkland Islands. St. Helena is of about equal distance. The islands are a British dependency.

         Disturbing research shows that intimate partner homicides are common, with roughly 1 in 6 homicide victims are killed by an intimate partner, as in 2019, California law enforcement received 161,123 domestic violence-related calls for assistance, and 47 percent of those calls involved a weapon. Research shows that abusers with a gun in the home are five times more likely to kill their partners than abusers who don’t have access to a firearm.

The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported  that an earthquake with a magnitude of 7.3 struck New Zealand, and according to the data, the epicenter of the earthquake was located 238 km away from Gisborne, New Zealand, at a depth of 10 km, warning ​tsunami waves were possible within 300 km of the quake’s epicenter, according to the Pacific Tsunami Warning Center.

No immediate information on possible casualties, specific damage has been reported, New Zealand is located in a seismically active.
