“Candace Claiborne was entrusted with Top Secret information when she purposefully misled federal investigators about her repeated interactions with foreign contacts which violated her oath of office as a State Department employee,” said Assistant Director McNamara.

The gifts and benefits included cash wired to Claiborne’s USAA account, Chinese New Year’s gifts, international travel and vacations, tuition at a Chinese fashion school, a fully furnished apartment, a monthly stipend and numerous cash payments.

The BRSN is supposedly an open mechanism of academic exchanges and cooperation, which is established to serve international think tanks, international and regional organizations and researchers of various countries, and promote the studies and academic exchanges on the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), while in fact it is an undercover tool of Mr.Xi to spread his tentacles around the world as the “stupid Americans” are fighting each other.

The BRSN plans to hold an academic exchange event each year, organize seminars and field trips to Belt and Road projects, and raise money to set up a non-profit Belt and Road international research fund.

Its 16 initiators formed an initiators council, and Cai Mingzhao, president of Xinhua News Agency and chairman of Xinhua Institute, serves as chairperson of the council.

Among the federal counts filed against those arrested in the operation included charges of distribution of cocaine base; distribution of fentanyl; possession with intent to distribute heroin; communicating to facilitate the commission of a drug felony connected to an attempt to distribute narcotics; conspiracy to distribute narcotics; and possession with intent to distribute cocaine base.

District Court Judge Reid O’Connor sentenced defendants Mohamed Toure, 58, and Denise Cros-Toure, 58, of Southlake, Texas, to seven years in prison each and ordered them to pay $288,620.24 in restitution, after a federal jury convicted the defendants of forced labor, conspiracy to commit alien harboring, and alien harboring on Jan. 11 following a four-day trial.

According to the evidence at trial, the defendants, members of wealthy and powerful Guinean families, arranged for the victim, then a young child from a rural Guinean community, to travel alone from her home in West Africa to the defendants’ home in Southlake, Texas, in early 2000. Once in the United States, the defendants forced the victim to cook, clean, and take care of their biological children, some of whom were close in age to the victim, without pay for the next 16 years.

Federal authorities arrested five defendants linked to a scheme that helped Chinese nationals obtain student visas by hiring individuals who used fake Chinese passports to take an English proficiency test for the foreign students.

This is following a 26-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury charging the defendants with conspiring to use false passports, using false passports, and aggravated identity theft as part of the scheme to impersonate Chinese nationals who were required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) to obtain a student visa.

The defendants are identified as follows:

Liu Cai, 23, of Woodland Hills, who allegedly facilitated the scheme, took at least five TOEFL exams himself and is residing in the United States on a student visa;

Quang Cao, 24, of San Francisco, who allegedly took at least four TOEFL exams with false identification, and who was arrested today in Stockton, California;

Elric Zhang, 24, of Los Angeles, who allegedly took at least five TOEFL exams as part of the scheme;

Mohan Zhang, 24, of Cerritos, who allegedly took at least two TOEFL exams under the names of foreign nationals;

Samantha Wang, 24, of Corona, who allegedly took at least two TOEFL exams.

A Dutch narcotics trafficker and money launderer was returned to his home country March 11 by US Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) deportation officers, following an international investigation which led to a conviction and expulsion on multiple charges tied to an drug trafficking scheme of Jeroen Van Den Elshout, 39, to Amsterdam, and into the custody of Dutch law enforcement authorities

According to reports, in 2015, Elshout was arrested in Turnhout, Belgium, by Belgian law enforcement authorities and alleged to have been involved in a scheme with Netherlands based drug traffickers and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (“the FARC”), a foreign terrorist organization, to smuggle large quantities of cocaine from South America to the Netherlands.

In March 2017, Elshout was extradited to the US following his indictment in US District Court-Southern District of New York (SDNY) on drug trafficking, narco-terrorism, and providing material support to a terrorist organization charges.
