Ron Rockwell Hansen, 58, a resident of Syracuse, Utah, and a former Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) officer, was arrested Saturday afternoon on federal charges including the attempted transmission of national defense information to the People’s Republic of China. The FBI agents took Hansen into custody while he was on his way to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport in Seattle to board a connecting flight to China. 

“Ron Rockwell Hansen is a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer who allegedly attempted to transmit national defense information to the People’s Republic of China’s intelligence service (PRCIS) and also allegedly received hundreds of thousands of dollars while illegally acting as an agent of China,” said Assistant Attorney General Demers. “His alleged actions are a betrayal of our nation’s security and the American people and are an affront to his former intelligence community colleagues. Our intelligence professionals swear an oath to protect our country’s most closely held secrets and the National Security Division will continue to relentlessly pursue justice against those who violate this oath.” 

Hansen retired from the U.S. Army as a Warrant Officer with a background in signals intelligence and human intelligence. He speaks fluent Mandarin-Chinese and Russian. DIA hired Hansen as a civilian intelligence case officer in 2006. Hansen held a Top Secret clearance for many years and signed several non-disclosure agreements during his tenure at DIA and as a government contractor. 

Between 2013 and 2017, Hansen regularly traveled between the United States and China, attending military and intelligence conferences in the U.S. and provided the information he learned at the conferences to contacts in China associated with the PRCIS. Hansen received payments for this information by a variety of methods, including cash, wires and credit card transactions. He also improperly sold export-controlled technology to persons in China. From May of 2013 to the date of the complaint, Hansen received not less than $800,000 in funds originating from China. 

In addition, Hansen repeatedly attempted to regain access to classified information after he stopped working on behalf of the U.S. Government. Hansen’s alerting behavior ultimately resulted in the participation of a law enforcement source from whom Hansen solicited classified information. Hansen disclosed to the source his ongoing contact with the PRCIS, including in-person meetings with intelligence officers during his trips to China. Hansen told the source the types of information his contacts in China were interested in and discussed working with the source to provide such information to the PRCIS. Hansen suggested he and the source would be handsomely paid.

(Société Générale) in to be specific, a global financial services institution based in Paris, France, and its wholly owned subsidiary, SGA Société Générale Acceptance N.V., have agreed to pay a combined total penalty of more than $860 million to resolve charges with criminal authorities in the United States and France, including $585 million relating to a multi-year scheme to pay bribes to officials in Libya and $275 million for violations arising from its manipulation of the London InterBank Offered Rate (LIBOR), one of the world’s leading benchmark interest rates. SGA Société Générale Acceptance N.V. will plead guilty in the Eastern District of New York in connection with the resolution of the foreign bribery case. Together with approximately $475 million in regulatory penalties and disgorgement that Société Générale has agreed to pay to the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) in connection with the LIBOR scheme, the total penalties to be paid by the bank exceed $1 billion. 

In related proceedings, Société Générale reached a settlement with the Parquet National Financier (PNF) in Paris relating to the Libya corruption scheme. The United States will credit $292,776,444 that Société Générale will pay to the PNF under its agreement, equal to 50 percent of the total criminal penalty otherwise payable to the United States. This is the first coordinated resolution with French authorities in a foreign bribery case.

3…………> “Antifa” Thugs Face Trump Supporters: Seattle 

“Deep State” Antifa punks faced a crowd of Trump supporters in a rowdy demonstration on Sunday in downtown Portland, marking the first large street protest of the spring, using pepper spray, throwing fireworks, bottles, rocks and ball bearings at each other. 

The rallies drew hundreds to parks near City Hall, led by right-wing Patriot Prayer leader Joey Gibson of Vancouver, his supporters, and counter-protesters, including black-clad antifascists, known as Antifa. 

The rallies began peacefully and escalated with shoving, a small bonfire on the Antifa side of the gatherings and punches thrown. Portland police stepped in to quell the fights and asked people to stay away from the area as Patriot Prayer supporters started marching. 

Portland police said officers with the Federal Protective Service and a Multnomah County sheriff’s deputy used pepper spray twice when protesters fought. They said four people were arrested on various allegations including disorderly conduct. 

Police said several people received medical evaluations at the scene but didn’t need to be taken to a hospital.

In addition to US and DPRK security teams at the June 12th meeting between President and Comrade Un, elite Singaporean police, including its Gurkha Contingent, will be securing the summit venue, roads, and hotels, according to diplomats familiar with VIP security in the island state. 

The Gurkhas of Nepal are recruited at 18 or 19 and serve until they are 45, carry a special knife called a khukri, which must draw blood every time it is unsheathed, wearing head to toe body armor, Belgian-made FN SCAR combat assault rifles and pistols in leg holsters at the conference. 

Gurkhas serve in the British, Indian and Nepalese armies, as well as in Brunei and Singapore, were in what some security experts believed was a dry run for the US-North Korea summit.

A 420-year-old church where two young girls claimed to have seen the Virgin Mary in 1492 and consecrated in 1598, didn’t suffer any significant damage despite being hit by rocks, spearing the sanctuary and the bell-tower when a rocky hill collapse after rain in a thick dust cloud. 

Italian authorities reported 5,000 cubic meters of debris fell, after the town received 60 millimeters of rain in 24 hours, yet Santuario di Gallivaggio (Sanctuary of Gallivaggio), close to the Swiss border, appeared to be unscathed by the mudflow.

Two Australians have been identified as joining ultra-right groups to fight in the war in Ukraine, with one of the men named Ethan Tilling, a former Neo-Nazi and trainee soldier in the Australian Army and the other was an airman with the Royal Australian Air Force, as both men took advantage of lack of rules prohibiting Australians fighting for Ukraine an endless, brutal and forgotten war. 

 

Mr. Tilling, who was until recently a member of the Nazi group Right Wing Resistance, had spent the Australian spring in the bitter cold of Eastern Ukraine firing Kalashnikovs, grenade and rocket launchers at Russian-backed separatists. 

Like many young Neo-Nazi die-hards attracted to the global ultranationalist movement, Mr. Tilling revered the Norse gods of war and grew up desperate to become a warrior himself, with a body plastered in tattoos celebrating his Scandinavian ancestors, and emblems of white supremacists. 

“I got involved [in Nazism] firstly following Islamic terror in Australia and with the terror attacks overseas,” he said. 

“I just became increasingly worried about the immigration into Australia and who was coming in, and whether or not we could guarantee those people wouldn’t harm us,” he said about his trek into the mad world of Neo-Nazis.

A Reno, Nevada attorney named Delmar Hardy was sentenced to 25 months in prison for filing false federal income tax returns for the years 2008, 2009 and 2010.

He is accused of falsifying his 2008 through 2010 returns by not reporting more than $400,000 in cash income his law practice received, and not reporting cash dated back to at least 1999, which resulted in a total tax loss of more than $250,000.

In addition to the term of imprisonment, U.S. District Court Judge Miranda M. Du ordered Hardy to serve one year of supervised release and to pay a fine in the amount of $10,000.

A 12-year-old Indonesian boy named Arya Permana was named by the Indonesian World Records Museum (MURI), the country’s version of Guinness World Records as the heaviest boy on the record, weighing staggering 390 pounds.

Arya went through a gastric operation in an attempt to lose weight and now hits the scale at a spectacular 218 pounds, hoping to go down 120 pounds which about right for a young person of his age.  

“My weight has dropped dramatically after the bariatric surgery. They made my stomach smaller, I lost my appetite, now even six spoons [of food] already makes me full. They ask me to eat more fruits and exercise regularly,” he confided to ABC News.

In 2013, WHO found 12% of Indonesian children were overweight.

Special Counsel Robert Mueller who has completely refused to go after Hillary  Clinton and her criminal deeds has warned he could order Donald Trump to testify as part of a probe into alleged Russian election meddling

Prominent attorney Alan Dershowitz, who has expressed support for Mr. Trump in his legal battles, advised against the US president speaking to the special counsel.

The former head of global foreign exchange cash trading at HSBC Bank plc, a subsidiary of HSBC Holdings plc (collectively HSBC), was sentenced to prison today for his role defrauding an HSBC client through a scheme commonly referred to as “front running.” 

Mark Johnson, 51, a United Kingdom citizen, was sentenced to serve 24 months in prison by U.S. District Judge Nicholas Garaufis of the Eastern District of New York. In addition, Judge Garaufis ordered that the defendant pay a fine of $300,000. A federal jury convicted the defendant on Oct. 23, 2017, following a four-week trial, of one count of wire fraud conspiracy and eight counts of wire fraud. 

“Mark Johnson, an executive at one of the world’s largest financial institutions, cheated his client out of millions and now he’s going to prison for it,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Cronan. “This sentencing should serve as a warning to those who engage in crooked financial schemes: The Justice Department’s Criminal Division and our law enforcement partners are watching. We are committed to protecting our financial system from harm and we will hold corporate executives accountable for their crimes.” 

Johnson and other traders acting under his direction purchased Pounds Sterling for their own benefit in their HSBC “proprietary” accounts, then caused the $3.5 billion foreign exchange transaction to be executed in a manner that was designed to “ramp,” or drive up, the price of the Pound Sterling, benefiting their proprietary positions and HSBC at the expense of their client.

Fareed Mumuni, 23, of Staten Island, New York, was sentenced today to 17 years in prison, to be followed by 10 years of supervised release, after pleading guilty to all counts in an indictment charging him with conspiring and attempting to provide material support to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS), a designated foreign terrorist organization, assaulting and conspiring to assault federal officers and attempted murder of federal officers. 

“The women and men of law enforcement put their lives on the line to keep us safe every day. We will not tolerate attacks on them or plots to kill Americans,” said Assistant Attorney General Demers. “I applaud the tireless efforts of the agents and prosecutors that led to the defendant’s arrest and conviction. The National Security Division remains committed to defending our country and taking action against those who would harm it.”

On June 17, 2015, during the execution of a search warrant at his residence in Staten Island, Mumuni charged at an FBI agent with a kitchen knife as the agents attempted to clear the house. Mumuni stabbed the FBI agent multiple times in the torso, using sufficient force to break off the tip of the knife. The agent was saved from serious injury or death only by his metal magazine carrier, which deflected and chipped the point of Mumuni’s knife while Mumuni was thrusting it into the agent’s side. Fortunately, the agent sustained only minor injuries.

A total of 28 people were charged with conspiracy to distribute fentanyl and other lethal drugs resulting in deaths and injury, criminals led by Na Chu, 37; Yeyou Chu, 36; Cuiying Liu, 62; and Keping Zhang, 62, all Chinese nationals, who were charged by a superseding indictment returned on Jan. 18, with international money laundering conspiracy, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, announced today.

The charges come as part of “Operation Denial,” an Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) investigation into the international trafficking of fentanyl and other lethal drugs, and was significantly aided by the national and international coordination led by the multi-agency Special Operations Division (S.O.D.) near Washington D.C. as part of “Operation Deadly Merchant.” The investigation started in North Dakota on Jan. 3, 2015, with the overdose death in Grand Forks of 18-year-old Bailey Henke.

“Fentanyl and its analogs killed more Americans than any other drug in 2016, and the vast majority of it comes from China,” said Attorney General Sessions. “The defendants in this case allegedly trafficked fentanyl from China to 11 states from coast to coast. As a result, Americans died in at least three states. I want to thank the U.S. Attorney’s Offices in North Dakota and Oregon, the Criminal Division’s Narcotic and Dangerous Drug Section, DEA, HSI, the North Dakota Bureau of Criminal Investigations, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police, and dozens more law enforcement officers across the United States and Canada who helped make these indictments possible. Today’s indictments are a step toward dismantling an alleged international fentanyl trafficking operation and eventually ending this nation’s unprecedented drug crisis.”
