2…………> Japan To join The Five Eyes Intelligence Network: China Fears?
.
Japan’s Shinzo Abe, one of county’s longest-serving prime minister, praised for pulling the world’s third-largest economy out of the doldrums and developing a more assertive Japanese foreign policy, has apparently left his successor, Yoshihide Suga a hefty pile of work, including the economic losses piled up due to the COVID-19 debacle, taking the office at a time of great geopolitical uncertainty.
Mr.Abe administration spent a lot of effort to move Japan from a cautious defense posture, and last month, Defense Minister Taro Kono repeated calls for Japan to join Five Eyes — an intelligence network made up of the UK, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand, formalized coalition in 1946, followed by Canada in 1948, and Australia and New Zealand in 1956 as equal members.
For partners including Australia and the United States, the bloc is a “force multiplier”, according to Rory Medcalf, director of the Australian National University’s National Security College.
“Intelligence matters more than ever, and intelligence sharing among the Five Eyes matters more than ever,” Professor Medcalf said.

3…………> European Cities New Lockdowns: COVID-19 Cases Soar
.
The Islamic Sheikdom of UK leader, Grand Ayatollah Boris Johnson said it is inevitable that the country would see a second wave of the coronavirus, and while he did not want another national lockdown, his government may need to introduce new restrictions, as cases almost doubled to 6,000 per day:
“We are now seeing a second wave coming in … It is absolutely, I’m afraid, inevitable, that we will see it in this country,” he said.
“I don’t want to get into a second national lockdown at all,” he said.
“[But] when you look at what is happening, you’ve got to wonder whether we need to go further.”

4…………> Ruth Bader Ginsburg: Republicans To Vote On Trump Pick
.
The leader of the Republican majority in the US Senate promised to act on a nomination to succeed Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, a liberal icon and feminist standard-bearer, who died on Friday, aged 87, just six weeks before the US presidential election, with President Trump saying he wanted a new judge sworn in “without delay”.
Ginsburg, the second-ever woman to sit on the Supreme Court, died of metastatic pancreatic cancer at her home in Washington DC, surrounded by her family, and “Uncle” Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden, Mr. Trump’s rival in the 3 November election, naturally said a replacement should only be appointed after the vote, with Mr. Trump, who has already chosen two Supreme Court justices during his presidency, is well aware that getting his nominee in would give conservatives control over key decisions for decades to come:
“We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices. We have this obligation, without delay!,” he wrote on Twitter, as Mr. McConnell said in a statement – which included a tribute to Ginsburg – that “President Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate”.

5…………> Biden’s Chinese Friends Commemorating Korean War?
.
SHENYANG, Sept. 19 (Xinhua) — A memorial hall commemorating the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (1950-1953) reopened in northeast China’s Liaoning Province, as the country marks the 70th anniversary of the war, with the renovated and expanded Memorial Hall of the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea in the border city of Dandong is the only museum in China featuring an exhibition of the complete history of the participation of the Chinese People’s Volunteers (CPV) in the war.
Covering a total area of 182,000 square meters, it consists of an exhibition hall, a memorial tower, a national defense education park, and a panorama hall featuring a panoramic painting of 132.15 meters long and 16 meters tall, which depicts the famous battle of the Chongchon River in the war.
First established in 1958 and moved to the current site in 1993, the memorial hall closed in late 2014 and has undergone massive refurbishment and expansion since then. Before it was closed, the new site had received 12 million visits, and this year has more than a symbolic meaning, since the Democratic candidate for US presidency “Uncle” Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden’s son Hunter has an investment office in Beijing, pushing forward the following uncomfortable question: How come a tentative US President’s son has office in a communist capital that sent its troops to fight one of the bloodiest wars in American history?
