2…………> Operation High Life: Mississippi
.
“The arrest culminating Operation High Life is a definitive example of the coalesced commitment among local, state and federal law enforcement to ensure public safety for all Mississippians,” said Colonel Steven A. Maxwell, Director of the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
“However, the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana is a clear indicator of how pervasive the drug culture is throughout our communities. These drugs were contributed to the loss of more than 500 Mississippians in 2020,” he said on conclusion as 33 individuals were arrested as part of a sweeping law enforcement operation that targeted members of a drug trafficking organization responsible for the distribution of significant quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine and marijuana in the Neshoba County, Mississippi area.
The arrests, conducted Friday and continuing over the weekend, were led by the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics, the Neshoba County Sheriff’s office, the Philadelphia Police Department, the Mississippi Attorney General’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration following a multi-year investigation in collaboration with Homeland Security Investigations New Orleans.

3…………> Congo Evacuation: Volcanic Eruption
.
The Congolese government said it was evacuating Goma, a city of nearly 2 million people, following the eruption of Mount Nyiragongo when lava reached the city’s airport, but stopped short of the urban areas, after the eruption forces nearby residents to flee, as a smoking trail of lava from a volcanic eruption appeared to have stopped a few hundred meters short of the city of Goma, in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), on Sunday.
The military governor of the region said: “The lava halted near Buhene on the outskirts of Goma” but that the city itself had been “spared.”
Nevertheless, General Constant Ndima said that five people had lost there lives in related accidents.

NASA will be sending its first mobile robot to the Moon to search for ice and other natural resources below the natural satellite’s surface, with a robot, named “Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover”, (VIPER), will be programmed with mapping resources around the Moon’s South Pole, and addition, would allow the lunar rover to explore shadowy regions of the natural satellite.
“The data received from VIPER has the potential to aid our scientists in determining precise locations and concentrations of ice on the Moon and will help us evaluate the environment and potential resources at the lunar south pole in preparation for Artemis astronauts,” said Lori Glaze, director for NASA’s Planetary Science Division in Washington.
