A severe sandstorm struck al-Muthanna province in southern Iraq, engulfing the landscape in a red dust, darkening the skies at around midday, another tick in dust storm cycles that have pummeled the country, blowing sand and dust into urban areas throughout the country.
Researchers say climate changes are correlated with a decrease the annual rainfall and environmental changes, such as drying of the marshes, land degradation, and desertification: i.e. a consequence of the global warming.

While President Trump is ready to dance “chick to chick” with Comrade Un in Singapore, offering money to rebuild North Korea and they give up their nukes, Mr.Xi’s PLA Air Force conducted patrol training near China’s island of Taiwan over the Bashi Channel, as advanced Su-35 fighter jets, KJ-2000 airborne early warning aircraft flew in formation with the H-6Ks nuclear-capable bombers in a new island patrol pattern.
Two groups of H-6K bombers started the training simultaneously from both north and south of Taiwan island, with one group flying clockwise and the other going counter-clockwise, escorted by Su-35 and J-11 fighter jets over the Bashi Channel and Miyako Strait regions.
“The air force has the resolve, the confidence, and the ability to safeguard national sovereignty and territorial integrity,” PLA spokesperson said.

A Guatemalan national identified as Waldemar Lorenzana-Cordon, 53, was sentenced to life in prison following a March 2016 trial that resulted in a conviction for his participation in an international drug trafficking conspiracy. He was responsible for the distribution of multi-ton quantities of cocaine for illegal importation into the United States.
“Waldemar Lorenzana-Cordon was a drug kingpin whose criminal organization had close ties to the violent Sinaloa Cartel and was responsible for transporting massive amounts of cocaine to be sold on our streets,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Cronan. “Lorenzana-Cordon’s life sentence sends a powerful message to leaders of drug trafficking organizations that, if they send their poison to our country, the United States and our international partners will work tirelessly to bring them to justice, no matter where in the world they may reside.
