A statement from Ri Pyong Chol, the secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers’ Party of Korea, alleges that Biden is shedding light on his “deep-seated hostility” toward North Korea:
“Such remarks from the US president are an undisguised encroachment on our state’s right to self-defense and provocation to it.”
North Korea has condemned Biden’s recent remarks regarding missile tests conducted by Pyongyang, warning the US that it may face “something that is not good” if the president continues to make similar “thoughtless remarks”:
“The recent test-fire of new-type tactical guided missiles was an act tantamount to the exercise of the full-fledged right of a sovereign state for self-defense, as it was a process that had been undertaken to implement the goals of the policy on national defense science set forth by our party and government to boost the defense capabilities of the country,” Ri said.

New York Attorney General Letitia James demanded that members of Congress, as well as the US President, continue their push for gun reform legislation, including the banning of “ghost guns” – a term typically used to describe homemade or improvised firearms, as Mr. Biden suggested that his administration is exploring legislation – or even executive action – related to firearm imports to the US:
“We’re looking at what kind of authority I have relative to imported weapons – as well as whether or not I have the authority,” the US president said.
He also expressed intent to explore possible restrictions related to ghost guns and other “new weapons that are being made by 3D equipment that aren’t registered as guns at all.”

Germany declared the whole of France a “high-risk” area for coronavirus infections, a move that means travelers need to show a negative COVID-19 test and quarantine upon arrival, since all French overseas departments, is now considered “at particularly high risk of infection due to a particularly high number of cases”, Germany’s Robert Koch Institute for infectious diseases said. Anyone travelling from France will have to be able to produce a negative test that is less than 48 hours old upon entry, before beginning a 10-day quarantine period in Germany.
Slovakia and the Czech Republic were meanwhile downgraded from the highest alert red list of “virus variants regions” to “high-risk” areas. Austria’s hard-hit Tyrol region, which borders Germany, is also no longer considered a virus variant region and is now classified as a lower-level risk area, RKI added.
