1…………> Chinese “Five Fingers”: A CIA Mole 

A federal jury convicted Kevin Patrick Mallory, 61, a former Central Intelligence Agency case officer of Leesburg, Virginia, on espionage charges related to his transmission of classified documents to an agent of the People’s Republic of China. 

“It is a sad day when an American citizen is convicted of spying on behalf of a foreign power,” said Assistant Attorney General Demers. “This act of espionage was no isolated incident. The People’s Republic of China has made a sophisticated and concerted effort to steal our nation’s secrets. Today’s conviction demonstrates that we remain vigilant against this threat and hold accountable all those who put the United States at risk through espionage.” 

According to court records and evidence presented at trial, in March and April 2017, Mallory traveled to Shanghai and met with an individual, Michael Yang, whom he quickly concluded was working for the People’s Republic of China Intelligence Service (PRCIS). During a voluntary interview with FBI agents on May 24, 2007, Mallory stated that Yang represented himself as working for a People’s Republic of China think tank, however, Mallory stated that he assessed Yang to be a Chinese Intelligence Officer. 

Mallory, a U.S. citizen who speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese, told FBI agents he traveled to Shanghai in March and April to meet with Yang and Yang’s boss. After Mallory consented to a review of a covert communications (covcom) device he had been given by Yang in order to communicate covertly with Yang, FBI agents viewed a message from Mallory to Yang in which Mallory stated that he could come in the middle of June and he could bring the remainder of the documents with him at that time. Analysis of the device, which was a Samsung Galaxy smartphone, also revealed a handwritten index describing eight different documents later determined to be classified. Four of the eight documents listed in the index were found stored on the device, with three being confirmed as containing classified information pertaining to the same U.S. government agency. One of those documents was classified TOP SECRET, while the remaining two documents were classified SECRET. FBI analysts were able to determine that Mallory had completed all of the steps necessary to securely transmit at least four documents via the covcom device, one of which contained unique identifiers for human sources who had helped the U.S. government. 

Mallory was convicted of conspiracy to deliver, attempted delivery, delivery of defense information to aid a foreign government and making material false statements. He faces a maximum penalty of life in prison when sentenced on Sept. 21. The statutory maximum penalty is prescribed by Congress and is provided here for informational purposes only, as any sentencing of the defendant will be determined by the judge.

Obviously enlightened by Israel and President Trump’s much heralded “Mexico will pay for it, and gladly” wall along the Mexico border, all designed to keep “unwanted” friends and relatives out, Turkey has completed the construction of a 475-mile concrete wall along its border with Syria. 

A part of Turkey’s effort to increase security and combat smuggling and illegal crossings on a 566-mi border with civil war embroiled Syria, the wall will seal provinces of Sanliurfa, Gaziantep, Kilis, Hatay, Mardin, and Sirnak from hostiles intrusions. 

The border wall project incorporates physical, electronic and advanced technology layers, includes modular concrete walls, patrol routes, manned and unmanned towers and passenger tracks.

Eight Israeli fraudsters and nearly 500 Philippines call centers agents are now locked in the prisons of President Duterte, accused of promulgating a multimillion-dollar online investment scam, the Philippine National Police said. 

Following complaints from Australian and South African investors who had been victimized out of millions of dollars, the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) and the Special Action Force raided three buildings in the Clark Freeport Zone in Pampanga province being used as the company’s offices. 

ACG director Chief Superintendent Marni Marcos Jr. said the company was allegedly involved in a fictitious stock trading business which held a portfolio of stocks that kept rising. 

“They showed their victims that they will invest in this because you saw it — the graph is going up, and you are going to earn money,” Marcos said at a press conference Thursday as quoted by Rappler, a Philippine-based online news portal.

Following a family tradition, Mr. Kim is known to use a special armored train for travel, but that’s not an option for getting to a state like Singapore, hence an Ilyushin-62M with a range of about 6000 miles puts the island safely within non-stop flying distance.  But there have been questions about the mechanical reliability and absence of advanced communications systems typical of modern planes, and Mr. Kim’s cargo plane, carrying heavy things like his limousine, can’t fly as far with a full load and might need to stop for refueling along the way.

Maryland’s remote Hooper Islands are beautiful and conservative, quiet and industrious, hence the mostly older population voted heavily for Donald Trump with his promise of a border wall, but now that immigration rhetoric risks their most important crab meat industry that for decades relied on Mexican “slave” workers employed under H2-B visas to do the labour-intensive work of picking tasty white flesh from the shells. 


“We’ve been getting these workers for 25 years and we depend on them,” says 81-year-old Dot Ruark who runs one of the picking factories that rely on Mexican workers. “And I don’t think we should have to go through what we have to go through every year.” Ms. Ruark’s picking factory is bustling with mostly female Mexican workers who laugh in Spanish as they finish a shift and collect their pay cheques. She is one of the lucky few to get visas for her workers this year. But she is watching friends have their workshops shut down as the President’s immigration crackdown bites with unintended consequences. “I mean it’s just hard, it’s hard to think that they’re sitting there and you don’t like that because we all work together down here and it’s just devastating you know,” Ms. Ruark said of her fellow factory owners.

Trevor King, 50, a former sergeant with the Atlanta Police Department was sentenced to five years in prison for using excessive force when he arrested a Walmart shopper named Tyrone Carnegay, then wrongfully accused him of shoplifting a tomato and for writing a false report about the incident in an effort to cover up his crime. 

“The defendant abused his authority as a police sergeant when he used a baton to brutally assault an innocent man and wrote a false report to cover up his crime,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General John Gore for the Civil Rights Division. “This sentence reflects the Department’s commitment to prosecuting official misconduct cases and sends a strong message that any abuse of power will not be tolerated.”

According to evidence presented during King’s trial, on the evening of Oct. 13, 2014, the victim, Tyrone Carnegay, was grocery shopping at a downtown Atlanta Walmart store. After purchasing groceries, Carnegay returned to the produce aisle to weigh a tomato for which he believed he had been overcharged. Former Sergeant King saw Carnegay on the store’s security monitor weighing the tomato and then walking out of the store after placing the tomato back into a bag. Suspecting that Carnegay was stealing the tomato, King withdrew his asp baton and stopped Carnegay at the store’s exit door. Within seconds of the stop, King began to strike Carnegay on his legs with the metal baton. After several blows, Carnegay fell to the floor. As he lay on the floor, King delivered a final baton strike, causing a compound fracture to Carnegie’s leg. After the assault, King found a receipt in Carnegie’s pocket for the groceries he had purchased, including the tomato.

“I have put in place a ‘zero tolerance’ policy for illegal entry on our Southwest border. If you cross this border unlawfully, then we will prosecute you. It’s that simple. If you are smuggling a child, then we will prosecute you and that child will be separated from you as required by law,” AG Jeff Sessions said while addressing a law enforcement conference in California.


The comments appear to strengthen the hardline immigration policy shift as President Trump continues his crackdown on the deluge of illegal border crossers, and have said that his department “will take up as many of those cases as humanly possible until we get to 100 percent” by sending 35 prosecutors to the Southwestern United States and moving 18 immigration judges to the border.

The White House announced today that President Donald J. Trump will award the Medal of Honor to Master Chief Petty Officer (SEAL), Retired, Britt Slabinski for his heroic actions in March 2002 during the Battle of Takur Ghar while serving in Afghanistan. 

 

Master Chief Slabinski will be awarded the Medal of Honor during a White House ceremony on May 24, 2018, for his actions while leading a team under heavy effective enemy fire in an attempt to rescue teammate Petty Officer First Class Neil Roberts during Operation ANACONDA in 2002. Master Chief Slabinski’s selfless actions throughout the 14-hour battle constituted gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty. 

 

In the early morning of 4 March 2002, then-Senior Chief Slabinski led a reconnaissance team to its assigned area atop Takur Ghar, a 10,000-foot snow-covered mountain in Afghanistan. An enemy rocket-propelled grenade attack on the insertion helicopter caused Petty Officer Neil Roberts to fall onto the enemy-infested mountaintop below and forced the damaged helicopter to crash land in the valley below. Fully aware of the risks, a numerically superior and well-entrenched enemy force, and approaching daylight, without hesitation Senior Chief Slabinski made the selfless and heroic decision to lead the remainder of his element on an immediate and daring rescue back to the mountaintop. Senior Chief Slabinski’s team, despite the heavy incoming enemy fire, was subsequently successfully inserted on top of Takur Ghar. Senior Chief Slabinski, without regard for his own life, charged directly toward the enemy strongpoint. He and a teammate fearlessly assaulted and cleared one enemy bunker at close range. The enemy then unleashed a murderous hail of machine gun fire from a second hardened position twenty meters away. Senior Chief Slabinski exposed himself to enemy fire on three sides, then moved forward to silence the second position. With bullets piercing his clothing, he repeatedly charged into a deadly fire to personally engage the enemy bunker with direct rifle fire, hand grenades and a grenade launcher on the surrounding enemy positions. Facing mounting casualties and low on ammunition, the situation became untenable. Senior Chief Slabinski skillfully maneuvered his team across open terrain, directing them out of effective enemy fire over the mountainside.

Current position long DIA at 24250, sell stop was closed at 24250 for a loss of 50 points, and a short position established at 24250, cover short 24200 for a gain of 50 DIA points. 

A cash dispersal to AAPL shareowners in the amount of $100 billion dollars sparked a rally, new position long at 24200, stop 24250 for a gain of 50 dollars.

Stock market old timers have said that “you buy the rumor, and sell the news”, and that is exactly what is happening right now, with the news that President Trump is about to start a metal tariff war, slapping 25% surcharge on steel and 10% on aluminum. DIA resistance is in the 27,000 area, with supports at 24135, 21354 and 18900 level, US dollar in a downtrend, resistance at 1.003319 CHF, support at .92 and 0.9: Gold in an uptrend, watch break resistance of 1377 to be taken soon. We warned long ago that an organized attempt to remove President Trump from office is underway, and if this activity is not curtailed soon, the market will open on gap below 20,000 with next stop 17300 and 11800 support levels.

Gold down to 1311.6 and USD/CHF at 1.00 despite President Trump setting tariffs on Chinese products. Translation? As the dollar goes down, we have to wait and see if the new Fed Chair Jerome Powell will continue pressuring gold and the Eurasian block with it down below $1000/oz in an economic WW3. Watch sell stop at 24,250. We have to wait and see if new Fed chair Powell will attempt to destroy Eurasian block by sending gold prices below 1000, despite the fact both Russia and China have been buying their whole gold production in local gold backed currency instead of money printing machines. In other words, US has lost controls of the precious metals complex, and with Trump’s infrastructure and tax cut campaign the National debt will soon be at, or over 30 trillion dollars, since D.C. swamp alligators have no intention dropping their pet projects.
