Jose Rodriguez, his “la gumbas” and their flags reach El Chaparral in Tijuana, the main border point from Tijuana, Mexico, where 300 migrants are camped here, demanding that authorities accept their requests for asylum.

With many migrants stranded in Tijuana, local authorities are trying to offer them jobs in the Mexican border town.
Jose Rodriguez from Siguatepeque in Honduras has been carrying his white flag for more than 3,000 kilometers now.

“I have two kids in Honduras. I want them to have a better life,” the 29-year-old said.
“The flag symbolizes that we mean no harm, and that we have good intentions,” Rodriguez explains.

The Coast Guard Cutter Thetis returned to Key West following a 68-day Eastern Pacific counter drug patrol in support of Operation Martillo, seizing 6,755 kilograms of cocaine and 14 pounds of marijuana during eight separate interdictions that resulted in the apprehension of 24 suspected smugglers.
While on patrol, one of the cutter’s boats discovered a large sea turtle entangled in multiple bales of suspected contraband, observing large cuts from the lines on his neck and flippers. They went to work, carefully cutting the lines wrapped around the sea turtle and then eventually freeing him.
