2…………> OPERATION LEGEND: Case of the Day
.
Illinois Man Charged with Discharging a Firearm While Carjacking a Vehicle from Two Victims
United States vs. Michael C. Pearson
“Carjacking is a senseless act of violence that has no place in our society,” said U.S. Attorney John R. Lausch, Jr. for the Northern District of Illinois. “Our office is committed to working closely with our federal, state, and local law enforcement partners to pursue and prosecute violent offenders.”
Michael C. Pearson was charged on August 20, 2020, with carjacking and using a firearm during a crime of violence.
According to the indictment, on July 28, 2020, Pearson discharged a firearm, specifically a .22 caliber Glock semiautomatic pistol, while carjacking a 2006 Buick Lucerne from two victims on the North Side of Chicago. The firearm charge carries a maximum sentence of life in federal prison, while the carjacking charge is punishably by up to 15 years.
The details contained in the charging document are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
Background on Operation Legend
President Trump promised to assist America’s cities that have been plagued by violence. In July, Attorney General William P. Barr announced the launch of Operation Legend, a sustained, systematic and coordinated law enforcement initiative across all federal law enforcement agencies working in conjunction with state and local law enforcement officials to fight violent crime in cities across America that were experiencing an uptick in violence. Operation Legend is named after four-year-old LeGend Taliferro, who was shot and killed on June 29th in Kansas City, Missouri, while asleep in his home.

3…………> San Francisco “Orange” Sky: Wildfires Blazes Across Western US
.
Three people died in California, and another three people have died in Oregon, as 100 extreme bushfires are fed by high winds and temperatures, with tens of thousands have been forced to evacuate as wildfires have burned nearly 1.9 million hectares across the US.
The fires turned San Francisco’s sky a hazy shade of orange, and drivers used their headlights during the day to see through the smog created by the fires, with hundreds, if not thousands, of homes and other buildings are believed to have been damaged or destroyed by the fires north-east of the city, fire officials said at an evening news conference.
The fire also threatened Paradise, a town devastated just two years ago by the deadliest blaze in state history.

4…………> Bibi1581 Slogan Borrowed By Deutsche Bank: ‘New World ‘Disorder’, Cold War Between US and China
.
A new report alleging that the US dollar could lose over a third of its value against the euro, and subsequently slide against other currencies in the coming months owing to poor US economic performance and ballooning debt in the wake of the coronavirus crisis, is about to usher a new era marked by instability, disorder and the fragmentation of the previous period of globalization, predicted long ago by Mr. George Sorbane in his immortal book, “The Endless Beginning”, as his slogan “The New World Disorder” has been apparently borrowed by Deutsche Bank, the largest bank in Germany and one of the largest financial institutions in the world.
In a document for clients entitled the ‘Long-Term Asset Return Study’, researchers suggest that the coronavirus crisis has accelerated, but not caused, the coming about of what lead analyst Jim Reid refers to as the new ‘Age of Disorder’, in which deteriorating relations and divergent interests between the United States and China replace the age of “unfettered globalization” (and smooth, easy profits) which began in the early 1980s.
“In terms of geopolitics, tension between the US and China should ‘characterize the era of disorder’ as China continues its path of restoring its historic role as a global economic powerhouse while preferring its own values to Western liberalism,” a summary of the report published on the bank’s website notes.

5…………> Nearly Half of US Voters Expect Trump Win Despite Biden Lead in Surveys: A New Poll
.
A 48 percent of registered US voters expect President Trump to be re-elected despite surveys that consistently show former Vice President Joe Biden with a comfortable lead, a Monmouth University poll revealed today.
“More registered voters think Trump (48%) will win the election rather than Biden (43%) despite Biden’s consistent lead in the polls, as firm Trump supporters, 92% expect their candidate to win and just 2% feel he will lose. Among firm Biden supporters, 80% expect the Democrat to win and 12% think he will lose. Among all other voters, including soft supporters and undecided voters, 43% believe Trump will win and 39% believe Biden will win,” the poll predicted.
Monmouth attributed the discrepancy to a small but sizable number of voters who expressed suspicion that vote tallies in the November 3 election will be accurate.
