A growing number of White House staff and senior Republicans have tested positive for COVID-19 since President Trump revealed he had contracted the respiratory disease, as the infections have shook-up the presidential campaign, rattled financial markets and slowed the work of Congress, with the Senate vowing to delay any votes now that three members of the Republican majority have tested positive.
Several people who met with the President last week said they had since tested negative, but the White House press secretary Kayleigh McEnany tests positive for COVID-19, while still not wearing a mask when she addressed the media:
“After testing negative consistently, including every day since Thursday, I tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday morning while experiencing no symptoms,” she said.
“No reporters, producers or members of the press are listed as close contacts by the White House Medical Unit.
“Moreover, I definitively had no knowledge of Hope Hicks’ diagnosis prior to holding a White House press briefing on Thursday.”
A list of people close to Mr. Trump who have tested positive for coronavirus in recent days is listed below:
Hope Hicks, a close adviser to the president who often travelled with him on the Air Force One and Marine One presidential aircraft, tested positive for the disease caused by the novel coronavirus on Thursday, Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel, who has had frequent contact with Mr. Trump, Senator Ron Johnson, who heads the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, a spokesman said on Saturday, and so did Senator Thom Tillis tested positive for the coronavirus.
Senator Mike Lee, also on the Judiciary Committee, said he tested positive on Friday. He was present at the Oval Office meeting on September 26.

The 96-year-old Zilli Schmidt has made it her mission to tell the world what was done to the Romani people by the Nazi regime, warning of contemporary parallels, after speaking in public about her life for first time on August 2, 2018, at a service for Europe’s murdered Romanis at the memorial in Berlin:
“I spoke only for my own people.”
She was pleased to see so many young people there:

In September 2020 Zilli Schmidt attended a reading of her book about her memories as a survivor of the Auschwitz death camp; “Your visit is a gift,” was a common expression of gratitude among the many people who turned out to greet her, with the book as entitled “God had plans for me: To keep alive the memory of the German Sinti and it tells of happy childhood days, as well as her incarceration, hunger, guards shooting at small children and mass murder”.
In an interview with DW, she explains that it is her mission to say what the Nazis did to the Sinti, one of Europe’s Romani tribes:
“They were all gassed, my entire family, all my people.”
She says all the talk after the war was about the Shoah:
“The Jews were all sent to the gas chambers. And all the Sinti are still alive?”
She pauses: “Nobody was still alive.”
