Facebook restricted public access to a service that has been used to pursue war criminals, expose human rights abuses and identify corrupt officials, by “pausing” public access to a feature called “Graph Search” without giving any indication when or if open access might be restored.

“Facebook’s actions are a direct attack on human rights and [a] clear message that they stand alongside violent regimes,” said Gregory Waters, a Middle East researcher at the University of California, Berkeley.

Graph Search was a feature which allowed users to extract specific public data from Facebook’s vast trove of stored information, above and beyond what simple keyword searches could achieve.

Dozens of crew members were rescued after abandoning two commercial oil tankers hit by explosions in the Gulf of Oman, with Iran saying it has “no connection” to the explosions,  and that “Somebody is trying to destabilize relations between Iran and the international community,” according to an official statement by the Islamic Republic.

The US disputed this, saying its Navy had rescued some of those aboard, and Wu I-fang, a spokesman for Taiwan’s CPC Corp oil refiner, which chartered the Front Altair, said it was carrying 75,000 tonnes of naphtha and was “suspected of being hit by a torpedo”, although this has not been confirmed.

Oil prices jumped as much as 4% after Thursday’s incident.

5…………> International Experiments Aboard China’s Space Station

While “Deep State” is working 25/8/385 to impeach a democratically elected and highly accomplished US President Trump, forcing him and his supporters into street by street battle for survival, nine scientific experiments from across the world have been accepted to be conducted on board the upcoming China Space Station (CSS), the United Nations and China announced here on Wednesday.

The six fully and three conditionally accepted experiments involve 23 entities from 17 countries, emerging from 42 proposals tabled by 27 countries.

 The CSS is expected to be operational around 2022.

The selected experiments come from both developed and developing countries, such as France, Germany and Japan, as well as Kenya and Peru, and cover a broad range of scientific subjects, including Earth observation, solar cells, space life sciences and biotechnolog”We aim at helping developing countries bridge the technological gap and realize space access and exploration,” said Wang Qun, Chinese envoy to the United Nations and other international organizations in Vienna.

“Today we are pleased to see that scientists from different countries, ethnicities and cultural backgrounds will conduct space scientific experiments aboard the CSS,” said CMSA Director General Hao Chun.
