According to court documents, Abdirizak Jaji Raghe Wehelie, aka Haji Raghe, 66, of St Burk, was a federal contractor for the FBI and worked as a linguist translating communications captured by court-authorized surveillance of a suspect (Person A) in a terrorism investigation.
Wehelie is scheduled to make his initial appearance in federal court in Alexandria, and is charged and arrested for making false statements to government officials and obstruction of a federal investigation.
Following a three-and-a-half day trial, Said Azzam Mohamad Rahim, a 42-year-old United States citizen, was convicted of one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a designated foreign terrorist organization (FTO), one count of attempting to provide material support to an FTO, and six counts of making false statements involving international terrorism to federal authorities.
Asked by agents if he had ever supported ISIS, advocated travel for the purposes of jihad, promoted violence on ISIS’s behalf, or encouraged anyone to kill infidels at the urging of ISIS spokesman Abu Mohammed Al Adnani, Mr. Rahim said,“Kill and do not consult anyone.”
Rahim now faces up to 20 years in federal prison for each material support count and eight years for each false statement count, for a total of up to 88 years imprisonment.

A naturalized U.S. citizen, identified as Mergia Negussie Habteyes, 58, residing in Alexandria, Virginia pleaded guilty before U.S. District Judge T. S. Ellis III of the Eastern District of Virginia to a felony charge of having fraudulently obtained U.S. citizenship.tern District of Virginia on Aug. 14, 2018.
At his plea hearing, Negussie specifically admitted that, during his sworn naturalization interview, he falsely stated that he had never persecuted persons because of their political opinion, and he failed to disclose that he had committed a crime or offense for which he was not arrested.

A federal jury found an internal medicine doctor and hospital owner guilty today for their roles in a multimillion health care fraud scheme, and following a two-week trial, Harcharan Narang, 50, of Houston, Texas, and Dayakar Moparty, 47, of Houston, Texas,were found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, 17 counts of health care fraud and three counts of money laundering.
Additionally, Narang and his co-conspirators falsified home health patient assessment forms to make the beneficiaries appear sicker on paper than they actually were, to receive higher reimbursement rates from health care benefit programs such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Cigna and Aetna, the evidence showed
During the trial, evidence was admitted showing that Narang and Moparty unlawfully enriched themselves by submitting false and fraudulent claims for medical tests that were not medically necessary and/or not provided and then billed at Red Oak Hospital at a higher reimbursement rate
Following a two-week trial, Harcharan Narang, 50, of Houston, Texas, and Dayakar Moparty, 47, of Houston, Texas,were found guilty of one count of conspiracy to commit health care fraud, 17 counts of health care fraud and three counts of money laundering.
