DETROIT — ICE’s Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) Detroit and the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Michigan announced Monday the seizure of a website located at http://lafoauto.com/, following an HSI etroit investigation with assistance from U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives. Visitors to the site will now find a seizure notice bearing law enforcement shields.

HSI etroit seized the internet domain http://lafoauto.com/ pursuant to an international arms-trafficking investigation. HSI determined that more than 350 suppressors seized by law enforcement across the county were purchased from the website and smuggled into the United States from China as automotive parts. Suppressors, also called silencers, reduce the sound and muzzle flash generated from a gunshot. Without proper license, they are illegal to purchase or possess in many U.S. states. The website advertised the suppressors as automotive components but images on the site clearly resembled firearms components.

Attorney General William P. Barr has issued the following statement:

“This morning, in the first federal execution in 17 years, Daniel Lewis Lee was executed by lethal injection at FCI Terre Haute in accordance with a death sentence imposed by a federal district court in 1999.Lee, a member of a white supremacist organization, brutally murdered William Frederick Mueller and Nancy Ann Mueller, along with her eight-year-old daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Powell.After robbing and shooting them with a stun gun, Lee duct-taped plastic bags around their heads, weighed down each victim with rocks, and drowned the family in the Illinois bayou.On May 4, 1999, a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas found Lee guilty of numerous offenses, including three counts of murder in aid of racketeering, and he was sentenced to death.Today, Lee finally faced the justice he deserved.The American people have made the considered choice to permit capital punishment for the most egregious federal crimes, and justice was done today in implementing the sentence for Lee’s horrific offenses”.

During a virtual fundraiser, the former Vice President “cited an old Chinese proverb” while discussing how to mitigate the impact of coronavirus on women:

“We’ve got to get real economic relief into women’s hands now,women hold up half the sky”, Comrade Biden said, a quotation from Chinese Communist leader Mao Zedong who upon gaining power in 1949.

Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite and ex-girlfriend of the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, is due to appear at a bail hearing via video link, so the court could determine whether she stays in prison while awaiting trial on charges of trafficking minors for Epstein.

Her lawyers have asked for her release on bail in the millions because of the risk of getting coronavirus in jail, after being arrested on 2 July, and if the charges against her are proved true, she faces up to 35 years prison if convicted.

Prosecutors have charged that between 1994 and 1997 Ms. Maxwell helped Epstein groom girls as young as 14. Epstein died in prison on 10 August as he awaited his trial on sex trafficking charges. His death was determined to be suicide.
