ICE officers removed an illegally present Mexican national Dec. 8, who was previously convicted in Washington of luring a disabled child, hence Eduardo Flores-Rodriguez, 33, was removed from the United States via an ICE Air Operations charter flight and transferred to the custody of Mexican authorities.
“ICE cannot allow criminal aliens who prey on children to remain in our community,” said ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Seattle Field Office Director Nathalie Asher. “Although local sanctuary laws attempt to provide a safe haven for dangerous individuals such as this, due to ICE’s dedication to public safety, Flores-Rodriguez is no longer free to roam the streets he previously victimized.”
On March 11, 2008, Flores-Rodriguez was arrested by the King County Sheriff’s Office for luring a minor with a developmental disability. He was convicted of those charges April 17, 2008, in King County Superior Court; sentenced to 12 months in jail; and remanded to the King County Jail. ICE lodged an immigration detainer with the jail the same day.
ICE lodges immigration detainers on individuals such as Flores-Rodriguez who have been arrested on local criminal charges and who are suspected of being removable, so that ICE can take custody of that person when he or she is released from local custody.
On April 28, 2008, Flores-Rodriguez was released from the King County Jail and transferred to ICE custody.

A former Dublin, Ohio, man identified as Yu Zhou, 50, pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court today to conspiring to steal exosome-related trade secrets concerning the research, identification and treatment of a range of pediatric medical conditions, also pleaded guilty to conspiring to commit wire fraud, and admitted to conspiring to steal scientific trade secrets related to exosomes and exosome isolation from Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s Research Institute for his own personal financial gain in China.
“Today’s plea underscores the Department of Justice’s commitment to protecting American research and trade secrets from those incentivized to steal them by Chinese Government programs,” said John C. Demers, Assistant Attorney General for National Security. 
“China’s endemic efforts to rob, replicate and replace products that they do not have the ability to develop themselves will not go unchecked, and those who seek to profit from the theft of trade secrets will be held accountable.”
“The Chinese government has created a large-scale, sophisticated system to steal American ingenuity,” U.S. Attorney David M. DeVillers said.
“We hope this conviction demonstrates that we will fight this system.”
“Zhou and his wife have both accepted responsibility for establishing a company in China to personally profit from the cutting-edge work done at Nationwide Children’s Hospital,” stated FBI Cincinnati Special Agent in Charge Chris Hoffman.
“The FBI will continue to work closely with our partners to protect the innovations that have made America a global leader.”
Zhou and his wife, Li Chen, 47, worked in separate medical research labs at the Research Institute for 10 years each (Zhou from 2007 until 2017 and Chen from 2008 until 2018). They conspired to steal trade secrets related to exosome research from Nationwide Children’s Hospital.

President Donald Trump instructed future US governments to develop nuclear power options to support human settlements on the Moon and Mars and provide propulsion for spacecraft and rovers to explore other planets, according to a new Space Policy Directive released by the White House on Wednesday:

“This memorandum establishes a national strategy to ensure the development and use of SNPP [space nuclear power and propulsion] systems when appropriate
to enable and achieve the scientific, exploration, national security, and commercial objectives of the United States,” the document, dubbed Space Policy Directive-6, said.

The document sets a number of goals, including establishing a uranium-based nuclear power plant on the surface of the moon by 2027, and using nuke technology to explore Mars.

The directive also sets a 2030 goal to develop new technology to improve systems that generate electricity using radioactive isotopes. Such systems
offer long-term power sources for robotic exploration of planet surfaces and robotic spacecraft to transit the solar system.
