WASHINGTON – U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) announced the results of a five-day targeted enforcement operation that resulted in the apprehension of more than 100 at-large aliens in communities spanning from the country’s northern to southwest borders.
ICE officers in Minnesota, Ohio, Missouri, Kansas, Michigan and Texas, conducted the enforcement actions Oct. 19 through Oct. 23, focusing on aliens subject to removal who pose a threat to public safety. More than 70% of aliens arrested had criminal convictions or pending criminal charges at the time of arrest.
“Every day, ICE officers protect our communities from the cross-border crime and illegal immigration that threaten public safety,” said ICE Senior Official Performing the Duties of the Director Tony H. Pham.

“These targeted enforcement actions highlight ICE’s vital role in keeping our communities safe.”

As political and social tensions are exploding high in the US with less than a week remaining before Election Day, and the GOP’s threatening to impeach “Uncle” Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden if he wins, and Steve Bannon’s predicting that Trump may run again in 2024 if he loses, the current political tensions are very unlikely to calm down any time soon.

The no longer silent war has spilled into the security forces on both coasts, as protests erupted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, hours after the police shot down Walter Wallace Jr., a 27-year old black man armed with a knife, resulting in at least 30 law enforcement officers being injured, while back west, Portland Police Association President Daryl Turner called upon Mayor Ted Wheeler on Monday to “stand up and publicly support” cops who are dealing with months-long unrest in the city:

“On almost a nightly basis for the past five months, members of the [Rapid Response Team] RRT have been on the front lines of keeping our city safe as many protest events have escalated into lawless riots filled with looting, arson, property damage, physical violence, and even murder,” Turner wrote in an open letter on Facebook.

The US Justice Department charged eight individuals, accusing them of conspiring to work on behalf of Beijing by taking part in an “international campaign to threaten, harass, surveil and intimidate” Chinese citizens to return to their home country:
“[I am here] to announce charges against eight individuals for acting as agents of the People’s Republic of China while taking part in an illegal Chinese law enforcement operation known as Fox ox Hunt” operation was to target Chinese nationals living abroad and force them to return to the country to face charges, as Mr. Demers expressed his belief this was done in an attempt to “silence” Beijing’s critics.
“Today’s charges reflect yet another example of China’s ongoing and widespread lawless behavior”, FBI Director Christopher Wray commented on the news.
