2…………..> ICE Most Wanted: Venezuela’s Bribes King

ICE Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) announced earlier this month the addition of Raul Antonio De La Santisima Trinidad Gorrin Belisario, a Venezuelan attorney and businessman, to its Most Wanted list for conspiracy to violate the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and several counts of money laundering, following indictment filed on August 16, 2017, in the Southern District of Florida, Gorrin Belisario’s subsequent escape from justice, and the updated FinCEN advisory (FIN-2019-A002, published by the U.S. Treasury Department’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network May 3, 2019) regarding widespread public corruption in Venezuela.

The indictment alleges that Gorrin Belisario, 50, a Venezuelan citizen with a residence in Miami, Florida, paid millions of dollars in bribes to two high-level Venezuelan officials to secure the rights to conduct foreign currency exchange transactions at favorable rates for the Venezuelan government. In addition to wiring money to bribe the officials, he allegedly purchased and paid expenses for them related to private jets, yachts, homes, champion horses, high-end watches, and a fashion line. To conceal the bribery payments, Gorrin Belisario made payments through multiple shell companies. Furthermore, he allegedly partnered with other subjects to acquire Banco Peravia, a bank in the Dominican Republic, to launder bribes paid to Venezuelan officials and stash the illicit proceeds of the scheme.

Gorrin Belisario was last seen in Caracas, Venezuela, and currently remains at-large.

3……………> US Watchdog After Trump: Law Breaking Accusation

In yet another partisan attack on President Trump, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) said in a report that the Trump Administration violated the law in holding up the aid, which Congress passed less than a year ago.
“The President is not vested with the power to ignore or amend any such duly enacted law,” the report said.
The findings are not legally binding and have no prosecutorial  power, and the aid was held up on orders from Mr. Trump, but was released after a complaint.
“Faithful execution of the law does not permit the President to substitute his own policy priorities for those that Congress has enacted into law,” the agency’s general counsel wrote in the report, completely ignoring the fact that son of current Democratic party leading candidate for President of the United States Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden, Hunter was paid a million dollars a year to sit on a company board, just because it provided a channel for influence on US Government decision making: i.e. a  blatant corruption.

4…………> The Bashful Chinese Banker: Apartment Full With Cash

A top Chinese banker identified as Lai Xiaomin confessed to taking more than 200 million yuan ($42 million) in cash bribes and stuffing the notes in cabinets in his apartment, due to being “too scared to spend” his millions in cash bribes as chairman of China Huarong Asset Management, one of the country’s top banks, and the Communist Party chief inside the company.

He confirmed taking the bribes during a confession in a documentary on state broadcaster CCTV.

Authorities found the cash was packed into cupboards, along with a large number of other items such as luxury watches, gold and artworks. The documentary also said Mr. Lai owned numerous properties and luxury cars.

“I didn’t even spend a cent … It’s all confiscated by the [Communist] Party in the end. What’s the point to have that much money?” Mr. Lai said.

5…………> Chinese Drone Fishermen: Better Paid Than MD’s

It has been known for some time that “China rewards fishers who netted foreign spy devices,” but it was 11 three fishermen receiving awards, one woman, the rest men – who found seven devices in total, spy drones to be specific on Jiangsu shores.

And the ceremony following, the rewards were huge – up to 500,000 yuan ($72,000) – around 17 times the average disposable income in China.

Jiangsu shoreline is stretching for some 620 miles, facing Japan and South Korea, while Taiwan is around 500 miles south. This geography – and the huge US presence in the region, is the reason keep finding these drones.

2…………..> A Human Trafficking Victim: Her Story

Tonya spent night after night in different hotel rooms, with different men, all at the command of someone she once trusted. She was held against her will, beaten and made to feel like she had no other option at the time, all by the man she thought she loved.
Tonya (a pseudonym) was a victim of human trafficking. “He made me feel like I was doing it because I loved him, and in the end, we’d have a really good [financial] reward,” Tonya said.
When Tonya was 13, she met Eddie (a pseudonym) at the apartment she was living in with her mother in the Dallas, Texas, area. His estranged wife was the property manager. Tonya was classmates with Eddie’s stepdaughter, so the two would often see each other at the apartment and in the local grocery store. It was there that the two first exchanged numbers.

3……………> US/China Tariff Deal Signed: A Trump Victory

The United States and China announced an initial trade deal that will roll back some tariffs and boost Chinese purchases of US goods and services, defusing an 18-month conflict between the world’s two largest economies, initiated by China’s consecion to purchase an additional $200 billion of US farm products and other goods, including $40-$50 billion in additional US services, and $75 billion more in manufacturing goods.
Beijing and Washington described their “Phase 1” agreement as a monumental step, after months of start-stop talks punctuated by tit-for-tat tariffs that disturbed supply chains, and ignited fears of a further slowdown in the global economy.
“Together we are righting the wrongs of the past and delivering a future of economic justice and security for American workers, farmers and families,” President Trump said as he celebrated the deal at the White House alongside Chinese Vice Premier Liu He and other officials.

4…………> New Anti-Trump Evidence: Giuliani’s Notes

According to new texts messages claimed as evidence for the impending President Trump’s impeachment trial, the former US envoy to Ukraine Maria Yovanovitch’s was placed under surveillance, with location and phone use directed regularly to an associate of Mr. Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani in a form of updates, if the records of letters, phone records, notes and flash drives obtained from the Ukrainian-American businessman Lev Parnas are to be believed, triumphantly paraded by House Intelligence Committee chairman Adam, “Pencil neck”  Schiff.

The US House of Representatives released a treasure-trove of documents to bolster their case against Mr. Trump, accusing of abuse of power and obstruction of Congress, all along completely ignoring the bulging corruption files of would-be Democratic White House challenger Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden and his son Hunter, who got a million dollar job just because his father was the VP of our our beloved 1st Muslim President, Grand Ayatollah Barack, “We must spread freedom around the world by reading our citizens email” Obama, “May Allah Shadow fall upon him.”

2…………..> Trump Hating, Criminal Hot Spots Burning: Non-Cooperative Cities

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has repeatedly asked local jurisdictions to reconsider non-cooperation policies because those policies put politics before public safety. On Friday, ICE released more examples of foreign nationals with active ICE detainers who have been detained for serious criminal offenses. ICE asks each of these jurisdictions to transfer these individuals to federal custody instead of releasing them to the community where they may reoffend.

ICE maintains that cooperation with local law enforcement is essential to protecting public safety, and the agency aims to work cooperatively with local jurisdictions to ensure that criminal aliens are not released into U.S. communities to commit additional crimes.

“The only way a person is subject to an ICE detainer… is if they are handcuffed and arrested for a crime committed in the local community,” said acting ICE Director Matt Albence.

3……………> Pelosi’s Barbecue Stand: One Trump On Banana Leaves, Well Done, With Saffron Rice

The Democratic-led House of Representatives voted to send two formal charges against Donald Trump to the Senate, clearing the way for only the third impeachment trial of a US president to begin next week, as members voted 228 to 193 to give the Senate, controlled by President’s fellow Republicans, the task of putting him on trial on charges of abuse of power for asking Ukraine to investigate political rival Joe, “Sleeping in a wrong century” Biden, and of obstruction of Congress for blocking testimony and documents sought by Democratic politicians.
The Senate is expected to acquit Mr. Trump, keeping him in office, as none of its 53 Republicans has voiced support for removing him, a step that under the US Constitution would require a two-thirds majority in the 100-seat chamber.

“We are here today to cross a very important threshold in American history,” House Speaker Nancy, “Anyone caught urinating in front of my mansion will be deported to Arizona” Pelosi said before the vote.

House intelligence committee chairman Adam,”Pencil Neck” Schiff, a former federal prosecutor, was selected to head the team of House “managers, and the trial will be overseen by US Chief Justice John Roberts.

4…………> Hate Trump, But Your IRA Loves Him: Great Returns

“We’ve got the equivalent of three football stadiums of $100 bills,” the chief executive of the Association of Superannuation Funds of Australia, or ASFA, Martin Fahey observed, as the total pool of Australian superannuation has now hit $3 trillion and last year, at 15.2 per cent, it produced the best return, on average, since 2013.

“Over a 15-year period we would typically expect funds to return 5, 6 maybe 7 per cent, but we’ve had extraordinary results mainly driven by the outstanding performance of both international and domestic equities,” he said.

Figures from SuperRatings show the median, or typical, balanced fund produced a slightly lower return of 13.8 per cent last year, but that was still the best in six years.

Mr. Fahey said Australia’s financial markets were relatively small so, in an effort to stretch returns, local fund managers were investing more of their clients’ super in international markets, including the US.

“I think what we have to be increasingly aware of is that, as our superannuation system has grown, increasingly, money has been deployed offshore,” he said.

“So that allows us to take advantage of international economic growth.”(abc.net.au)
