A shooting at the Madden 19 TournamentGLHF Game Bar in Jacksonville, Florida, by a man identified as a 24-year old David Katz from Baltimore who was confirmed dead after killing at least 3 people and injuring 11, according to preliminary reports.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department labeled the incident a “mass shooting”  in a news conference, and reported that the shooter, a white male, was alone confirmed dead, and so were two other people. There were also nine people wounded.

The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office added to the confusion by tweeting that “local and national media are distributing inaccurate numbers.”

At the  street festival in the eastern German city of Chemnitz 800 people took to the streets to protest the death of a 35-year-old man said to be of German origin, who was stabbed during an altercation that involved ten people, several of which were of “various nationalities,” according to police sources.

Aside from the victim, two men in their 30s were also stabbed and seriously injured, while two others were taken into custody as far-right groups mobilized against the the unruly crowds, protesting against crimes committed by foreigners.

Some demonstrators were allegedly seen hunting down people of non-German descent and attacking them, daily “Das Bild” reported.

The maneuvers come as part of a series of military drills aimed at bolstering the army’s overall combat-readiness that had simulated combat situations involving Lebanon’s Hezbollah group, with which Israel fought a major conflict in 2006.

The Israeli army frequently conducts drills near the borders of Lebanon, Syria and the Hamas-run Gaza Strip.

Ziv Mador, head of security research at Trustwave SpiderLabs told the BBC that credit card thieves have limited time to profit, because at some point the victim will put a stop on their card. Tens of thousands of stolen card numbers are traded daily on the underground markets that Mr. Zador and his colleague’s monitor, with details taken from compromised websites or databases.

“They can try to sell the card, which is not big money because they only get a few dollars for each one, they do not buy 100 or so iPhones at once,” he said.

“They use a lot of different cards at different times,” forcing the crooks to use randomization tools to thwart anti-fraud systems that would spot if all the purchases, even those made with different cards, are being done on the same computer. (BBC)

NATO has handed Athens a list of 50 “suspicious vessels” it accuses of conducting reconnaissance missions in the Aegean Sea near the coast of Greece.

“The vessels include fishing, sailing and leisure ships which are sailing across the Aegean Sea to gather information. Despite vicious disagreements with his vision of the 21th-century world, people from both sides of the political spectrum paid homage to the man who came back from infamous “Hanoi Hilton” on crutches and spent the next forty years in the whirlwind of American politics. Despite that strong winds have died down, Hawaii’s officials warned citizens torrential rains are to remain a significant threat to the islands after once-powerful Hurricane Lane was downgraded to a tropical storm.

Though the storm has turned west, lessening the danger to the islands, federal authorities urged caution as residents started cleaning up. Big Island and Maui saw flooding and landslides last week as the approaching storm brought more than a 3 feet of rain in some areas, but no storm-related deaths were reported.
