1…………> Operation “Broken Heart”: Cold Jail

The Department of Justice today announced the arrest of more than 2,300 suspected online child sex offenders during a three-month, nationwide, the operation conducted by Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) task forces. The task forces identified 195 offenders who either produced child pornography or committed child sexual abuse, and 383 children who suffered recent, ongoing, or historical sexual abuse or production of child pornography.

The 61 ICAC task forces, located in all 50 states and comprised of more than 4,500 federal, state, local and tribal law enforcement agencies, led the coordinated operation known as “Broken Heart” during the months of March, April, and May 2018. During the course of the operation, the task forces investigated more than 25,200 complaints of technology-facilitated crimes against children and delivered more than 3,700 presentations on Internet safety to over 390,000 youth and adults.

“No child should ever have to endure sexual abuse,” Attorney General Jeff Sessions said. “And yet, in recent years, certain forms of modern technology have facilitated the spread of child pornography and created greater incentives for its production. We at the Department of Justice are determined to strike back against these repugnant crimes. It is shocking and very sad that in this one operation, we have arrested more than 2,300 alleged child predators and investigated some 25,200 sexual abuse complaints. Any would-be criminal should be warned: this Department will remain relentless in hunting down those who victimize our children.”

The operation targeted suspects who: (1) produce, distribute, receive and possess child pornography; (2) engage in online enticement of children for sexual purposes; (3) engage in the sex trafficking of children; and (4) travel across state lines or to foreign countries and sexually abuse children.

2…………> Trump, Un & Co: Discussions & Decisions

US President Donald Trump has confirmed North Korean leader Kim Jong-un have signed an agreement to work toward complete denuclearization of the Korean peninsula after their historic meeting in Singapore.

Mr.Trump described his meeting with Chairman Kim as “honest, direct and productive”.

“We got to know each other well in a very confined period of time, under very strong, strong circumstances.

“We’re prepared to start a new history and we’re ready to write a new chapter between our nations.”
And he trusts that Kim is going to live up to his promises seek.

“… Chairman Kim is on his way back to North Korea and I know for a fact as soon as he arrives he is going to start a process that is going to make a lot of people very happy and very safe …”
He announced there will be no more war games with South Korea

He was asked if he would be stopping military war exercises with Korea, and replied: “Yes”.

“We have done war exercises with a long period of time working with South Korea and we call them war games.

“… They’re tremendously expensive. The amount of money that we spend on that is incredible. And South Korea contributes but not 100%, which is certainly a subject that we have to talk to them about …”
But is sticking with US sanctions against the North:

“In the meantime, the sanctions will remain in effect.”

3…………> Historic U-Turn: Trump Meets Comrade Un

President Donald Trump on Tuesday said that North Korea’s denuclearization process will start “very quickly” as the pair wrapped up an unprecedented meeting on Sentosa Island in Singapore, as the two leaders signed what was described as a “comprehensive” deal in front of international camera crews.

Mr.Trump was full of praise for his “very smart” North Korean counterpart, describing their “very special bond” and a total shift in Washington’s relationship with Pyongyang.

North Korea has repeatedly threatened to attack the U.S., after decades of hostility and suspicion since the 1950-53 Korean War closed with a ceasefire. Trump increasingly hit back with his own rhetoric since taking office last year.

But Kim told reporters at the Capella Hotel that they have chosen to “leave the past behind”.

Trump also confirmed he would invite the North’s leader to the White House.

5…………> Venezuela Hyper-Inflation: Misfit Maduro

The opposition-dominated Venezuelan parliament issued fresh economic data on Monday, showing that inflation for the month of May spiked 110.1 percent compared with April, and sending annual inflation to a staggering 24,571 percent.

With daily inflation running at 2.4 percent, the country’s currency, the bolivar, plunged about 98 percent in the course of the past 12 months alone.

“It’s a tragedy that we are experiencing every day,” said the parliament’s finance commission spokesman Rafael Guzman as he revealed the latest figures.

Opposition politicians in the South American country blame the socialist government of President Nicolas Maduro for the massive economic crisis. Years of mismanagement had led to widespread shortages of food and medicine, they said and had caused the oil-rich country and its state-owned oil company PDVSA to default on some of its debt.

The government says US sanctions and financial speculators have caused the economic crisis to worsen in recent months.

Making ends meet

While parliamentary leaders have called on the government to abandon 15-year-old currency controls and stop printing money, hyperinflation is devastating Venezuelans, whose salaries often are not enough to pay for one meal a day.

In May, 2.2 lbs of meat cost about 2 million bolivars (€16.9 or $20). But the monthly salary of a surgeon stood at less than 6 million bolivars.

Worried by growing discontent, the Maduro government nearly doubled the minimum salary in May, raising it to 2.5 million bolivars per month.

But the hike seems to have poured only more gasoline on the flames of hyperinflation, as consumers rushed to buy the few products available in stores and thereby drive prices even higher.

The International Monetary Fund has forecast that Venezuela’s hyperinflation will top 13,800 percent this year, but some lawmakers believe it could be at least 100,000% and possibly 300,000%.

An Salvadoran national in the country illegally, who has an Interpol warrant for being a member of MS-13 and trafficking in firearms and narcotics, is among 91 foreign nationals taken into custody during a five-day operation conducted by ICE last week in New Jersey, targeting at-large criminal aliens, illegal re-entrants and other immigration violators,  with 77% were convicted criminals and 70 % of them had prior felony convictions.

“The remarkable results of our officers and law enforcement partners highlight ICE’s ongoing commitment to public safety,” said John Tsoukaris, Field Office Director of ERO Newark. “This operation focuses on the arrest of individuals convicted of serious crimes and are a threat to public safety. 2…………> “Dark Web” Pornography: Prison Reality

A Connecticut man identified as Michael Hull, 61, of Shelton was sentenced by federal court to five years in federal prison and five years of supervised release for possessing child pornography, after his conviction in a ‘Dark Web’ investigation by HSI operation led by special agents in New Haven, Connecticut revealed that he was accessing the dark web to search for, view and download child pornography.

In May 2017, HSI agents and Shelton, Connecticut Police officers conducted a court-authorized search of Hull’s Connecticut residence and seized approximately 16 electronic devices, including computers and external hard drives. Forensic analysis of the seized devices revealed 13 images and 126 videos of child pornography, including many images and videos depicting children younger than 12 engaged in a sexually explicit conduct. Among the items seized were two encrypted tablets and an encrypted hard drivthat could not be searched.

“Thanks to the tireless work of our Homeland Security Investigations New Haven office, in close coordination with our local and state partners in the Connecticut Child Exploitation Task Force, this predator has been brought to justice and will no longer be in a position to harm innocent children,” said Peter C. Fitzhugh, Special Agent In Charge of HSI Boston.

4…………> Asylum Abuse Must Stop: AG Sessions

The US attorney general Jeff Sessions rejected an asylum bid from an El Salvador woman who was beaten and raped by her ex-husband, in a landmark ruling, saying that being a victim of domestic abuse or gang violence does not necessarily qualify for US asylum,  and “asylum statute is not a general hardship statute” and that immigrants were exploiting the system.

“Generally, claims by aliens pertaining to domestic violence or gang violence perpetrated by non-governmental actors will not qualify for asylum,” Mr. Sessions wrote in his ruling.
“The mere fact that a country may have problems effectively policing certain crimes – such as domestic violence or gang violence – or that certain populations are more likely to be victims of crime, cannot itself establish an asylum claim,” he concluded.

Mr. Sessions’ decision overrules a lower court’s ruling that granted asylum to a woman who told US immigration authorities she had been abused by her husband in El Salvador.

“The asylum statute does not provide redress for all misfortune,” he said, adding that the woman was a victim of “private criminal activity” rather than state-sponsored persecution.

“Asylum was never meant to alleviate all problems, even all serious problems, that people face every day all over the world,” the attorney general said in advance of his ruling.

The US immigration courts are under the auspices of the Department of Justice, which Mr. Sessions lead.

New position long 24500, stop 25100 for a gain of 600 points.

Stocks were up 6 to 25322, DJ futures +22, attempt to stage a covering short rally.

Gold up to 1301.8 and USD/CHF at 1.01 despite President Trump setting tariffs on Chinese products. Translation? As the dollar goes down, we have to wait and see if the new Fed Chair Jerome Powell will continue pressuring gold and the Eurasian block with it down below $1000/oz in an economic WW3. Watch cover short at 25100.

We have to wait and see if new Fed chair Powell will attempt to destroy Eurasian block by sending gold prices below 1000, despite the fact both Russia and China have been buying their whole gold production in local gold backed currency instead of money printing machines. In other words, US has lost controls of the precious metals complex, and with Trump’s infrastructure and tax cut campaign the National debt will soon be at, or over 30 trillion dollars, since D.C. swamp alligators have no intention dropping their pet projects. 1…………> “Love Is In The Air”: Trump, Un Lunch

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, who rarely observed outside his isolated country, visited tourist sites on Singapore’s waterfront, enjoying the “Gardens by the Bay”, Singapore’s famous waterfront park with futuristic installations, which boasts the largest glass greenhouse and tallest indoor, man-made waterfall in the world as onlookers had gathered outside the Marina Bay Sands hotel, which resembles a ship perched on three columns at the mouth of the Singapore River.

Singapore Foreign Minister Vivian Balakrishnan, who accompanied Mr. Kim on his tour of the sites, posted a selfie to Facebook with the North Korean leader and Singapore Education Minister Ong Ye Kung.

The Swiss-educated leader, who is believed to be 34, has not left his country since taking office in 2011 other than to visit China and the South Korean side of the border Demilitarized Zone, which separates the two Koreas.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump forecast a “nice” outcome for his meeting with Mr. Kim, and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the preparatory talks between the two nations had moved quite rapidly.

“We anticipate that they will come to their logical conclusion even more quickly than we anticipated,” Mr. Pompeo said.

2…………> We ‘been Cheated & Mistreated: Mr. Trump

The president tweeted that America was paying disproportionately more towards the costs of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (Nato) than fellow members.

“They pay only a fraction of the cost – and laugh,” he wrote, adding that the EU needed to pay “much more” to help fund the international military alliance, which comprises 28 members including the UK, US, Germany, Canada, and Turkey. Not all EU members are Nato members.

Mr. Trump went on to say that the US gets “unfairly clobbered” on trade despite “protecting Europe at a great financial loss”.

“Change is coming!” he warned.

Donald J. Trump

@realDonaldTrump

Sorry, we cannot let our friends, or enemies, take advantage of us on Trade anymore. We must put the American worker first!

Mr. Trump has consistently said that countries that have a trade surplus with the US – meaning they export more to the US than they import – are “taking advantage” of the US.

While only part of the greater US spending is directed to the collective defense of its Nato allies, President Trump has argued since before his election that the allies are freeloading on the backs of US taxpayers and are failing to spend enough of their own resources on their defense.

Mr. Trump said his decision to reject the joint G7 communique was based on Mr. Trudeau’s “false statements… and the fact that Canada is charging massive tariffs to our US farmers, workers and companies”.

4…………> The Un Dynasty: Long-Term Threat

Both Kim Jong-un and Donald Trump have a history of making provocative threats against each other. Will the dispute over nuclear weapons escalate and will the meeting between the North Korean leader and the U.S. president take place?

Some attribute the recent chain of events to the long-term stability of North Korea’s ruling dynasty. North Korea has consistently refused to give up the nuclear program that it has been pursuing since 1962. Washington has been equally consistent in changing its policies toward Pyongyang. And what will become of the US commitment to protect South Korea and Japan? Our report outlines the history of North Korea’s nuclear program — and also explains how the US has helped to enhance Pyongyang’s strategic position. Every recent U-S administration — from Bill Clinton to Donald Trump — has changed the country’s policy toward North Korea. American presidents come and go, but the Kim dynasty remains in place.

5…………> The “Mosul Eye”: Islamic State Atrocities

Omar Mohammed, a young historian with a Ph.D. in history from the Iraqi city of Mosul, founded a platform to document the crimes committed by “Islamic State.” Has Mosul Eye made a difference?

“Mosul Eye was for Mosul, but it was also addressed to the rest of the world,” Mohammed recently told DW, discussing the more than 300,000 online followers his platform has amassed. “‘Islamic State’ wanted to isolate the city so that there were no witnesses, so globalizing Mosul became an act of protection,” he added.

And as a witness, he took it upon himself to relate the horrors committed by IS in Mosul that countered the group’s narrative in real time. “It was a way to protect the future of my city so that coming generations would know what happened here,” the 32-year-old scholar said. Mohammed began writing under the pseudonym Mosul Eye, along with other names that disguised his identity, shortly after IS issued its so-called Constitution of the City in June 2014 — 16 articles by which it ruled Mosul in accordance with a strict form of Sharia law, described by Mohammed as “the rules of death.”

The list of atrocities he witnessed and documented included the mass displacement of Christians and the enslavement of Yazidis, execution by stoning of accused adulterers and throwing people believed to be homosexuals from high buildings.
