Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci’s painting Salvator Mundi is a depiction of Christ, with a raised right hand and a glass sphere in his left, one of only 20 surviving works of the great master that was sold for $450 million in New York, breaking a record for the most expensive artwork ever auctioned.
The previous record for a painting sold at auction was Pablo Picasso’s Women of Algiers, painted in 1955, which went for almost $180 million in 2015.

Hamas blamed Israel for last year’s assassination in Tunisia of Mohamed al-Zawari, an aviation engineer who was in charge of overseeing the terrorist’s group’s secret drone program and a member of the group’s armed wing.
Mohamed Nazzal, a member of Hamas’s political bureau, said that Israel’s Mossad killed al-Zawari by sending three groups of operatives, “The first group provided logistics, the second was tasked with information collection, and the third group of two assassins carrying pistols equipped with silencers was tasked with carrying out the hit,” he added.
