2…………> ICE Officers Removed Macedonian Man: Causing Serious Bodily Injury
.
On Jan. 23, 2014, Djevair Ametovski, 34, was arrested by law enforcement officials in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and the U.S. Secret Service, for his role in an international cybercrime conspiracy involving stolen payment cards, and extradited to the United States in May 2016.
On April 17, 2019, Ametovski was sentenced by United States District Judge in the Eastern District of New York to 90 months’ imprisonment after previously pleading guilty to access device fraud and aggravated identity theft, for crimes related to his operation of “Codeshop,” a website he created for the sole purpose of selling stolen credit and debit card data, bank account credentials and personal identification information.
Ametovski is the subject of an active warrant for assault related charges issued by North Macedonian law enforcement authorities, and turned over to them without incident.

3…………> Blue Bell Creameries Creamed:$17.25 Million Fine For Listeria Contamination
.
A federal court in Texas sentenced ice cream manufacturer Blue Bell Creameries L.P. to pay $17.25 million in criminal penalties for shipments of contaminated products linked to a 2015 listeriosis outbreak, the Justice Department announced today:
“American consumers must be able to trust that the foods they purchase are safe to eat,” said Acting Assistant Attorney General Jeffrey Bossert Clark of the Justice Department’s Civil Division. “The sentence imposed today sends a clear message to food manufacturers that the Department of Justice will take appropriate actions when contaminated food products endanger consumers.”
“The health of American consumers and the safety of our food are too important to be thwarted by the criminal acts of any individual or company,” said Judy McMeekin, Pharm.D., Associate Commissioner for Regulatory Affairs, U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
“Americans expect and deserve the highest standards of food safety and integrity. We will continue to pursue and bring to justice those who put the public health at risk by distributing contaminated foods in the U.S. marketplace.”
“The results of this investigation reflect the determination of the Defense Criminal Investigative Service to hold companies that sell food products to the military accountable and ensure they comply with food safety laws,” said Michael Mentavlos, Special Agent-in-Charge of the DCIS Southwest Field Office.
“The health and safety of our service members and their dependents is of paramount importance.”
Blue Bell pleaded guilty in May 2020 to two misdemeanor counts of distributing adulterated ice cream products. The sentence, imposed by U.S. District Judge Robert Pitman in Austin, Texas, was consistent with the terms of a plea agreement previously filed in the case. The $17.25 million fine and forfeiture amount is the largest-ever criminal penalty following a conviction in a food safety case.

4…………> Ex-FBI Director Comey On The Hot Seat: Senate Judiciary Panel
.
WASHINGTON, September 18. Former FBI Director James Comey will appear before the US Senate Judiciary Committee on September 30, according to panel chairman Lindsey Graham who acknowledged that Congress is dubious about the number of then-FBI senior officials who claimed they had lost or accidentally erased the records of their cell phones in discussing Crossfire Hurricane, the FBI Counterintelligence Crossfire Hurricane probe of President Trump’s alleged connections with Russia, for which no evidence was ever found:
“The day of reckoning is upon us,” Graham said to the press.
“James Comey has agreed to appear before the Senate Judiciary Committee. He will be respectfully treated… We will have Mr. Comey before the committee and I look forward to it.”
“Common sense [says] it sounds fishy as hell. We are going to ask the people who did the erasing. We will try to find out, how was the FISA [Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act] court mislead multiple times? That day is coming. We are getting to the bottom of what happened,” Graham said.
