2…………> COVID-19 Mortal Blow: Airbus Failing, Is Boeing Next?
.
The chief executive of Airbus has issued a chilling assessment of the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the plane maker, when in a letter to workers, Guillaume Faury warned the company was ” bleeding cash at an unprecedented speed” having cut aircraft production by a third, on the catastrophic collapse of the aviation industry, that is expected to shrink significantly in the wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.
Mr. Faury also warned Airbus’ 135,000 staff to brace for potentially deep job cuts, saying that the very survival is at stake without immediate action.
Airbus is this week due to deliver financial results for the first quarter of the year. Those figures will be overshadowed by the pandemic that has left global airlines struggling to survive and almost completely halted plane deliveries since lockdowns started in March.

3…………> COVID-19 March Is ON: When Will Americans Get Full-Face Masks?
.
More than 55,000 people have died of COVID-19 in the United States, with a total of million cases been reported, as the state of New York was hit hardest, with 282,460 cases and 20,982 deaths, followed by New Jersey’s 5,426 fatalities, Michigan’s 2,977 deaths and Massachusetts 2,360 deaths, and despite the grim statistics, and lack of masks for the general population, debates are raging over reopening the country’s economy severely battered by the virus.
Several states are moving toward restarting their economies after the federal government issued new guidelines to reopen the country in phases, but many others remain hesitant to take such steps without more robust testing capacity.
Georgia moved ahead on Friday with plans to allow some nonessential businesses such as gyms, barber shops, hair salons, tattoo parlors and bowling alleys to reopen with strict social-distancing and hygiene requirements.

4…………> Glamorous Sam Neil: The Cheering-Up Business During COVID-19 Times
.
Monumental and beloved actor Sam Neil, amateur winemaker,”duck dad” and occasional ukulele player, keeping his spirits high in times of COVID-19 isolation by driving his 1960 Austin A40 small vintage car along the wide, lazy Clutha River, over the bridge into the town of Clyde with its historic stone buildings, surrounded by the great snow-capped Southern Alps of New Zealand’s South Island rise up around the town, parks his in front of his favorite cafe, greeting other locals, then settles in with his coffee and newspaper.
Here in the wine country of Central Otago he is just another farmer, another winemaker worried about early frosts, part of the landscape and of an agricultural community:
“I feel like I am part of the soil,I love the whole process and the changing of the seasons”, he says, despite that he been accused of being a dilettante actor making wine as a hobby, something that irritates him, because in fact his family company Neill & Co have been wine and alcohol merchants in New Zealand since the 1860s. He was hit by the “wine making bug” himself, and after planting his first pinot grapes in the early 90s, what started as a “delightful diversion” became a”crazy obsession”.(BBC)

5………..> US “1929” Great Depression 2.0 Ahead: Economic and Job Collapse
United States Department of Labor reported that the US now has 26.5 million people who have filed for initial unemployment claims since mid-March after losing their jobs amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, putting an end to over 100 months of record job growth.
The US is predicted as heading for an unemployment rate comparable to the levels registered during the Great Depression of 1929 – 1939, as it struggles to deal with the fallout from the novel coronavirus pandemic:
“Around 2008, we lost 8.7 million jobs and the whole thing. Right now, we’re losing that many jobs about every 10 days“, said Kevin Hassett, President Trump’s economic adviser.
The adviser recalled that during the Great Depression, unemployment rate peaked at about 25 per cent, while during the Great Recession of 2007- 2009 it took roughly 10 months for new unemployment claims to spiral as high as they currently have in under a month.
