V.P. Mike Pence and group had a productive meeting with the Schumer/Pelosi representatives today. Many details of Border Security were discussed. We are now planning a Steel Barrier rather than concrete. It is both stronger & less obtrusive. Good solution, and made in the U.S.A.

By offering a steel barrier instead of cement wall as an olive branch to the ideologically deeply entrenched “lefties” Democrats who have so far have not offered to spend even a penny for the US/Mexico border wall of their sworn enemy, President Trump is trying to kill two birds with one stone: not to betray his “deplorable supporters” and therefore not to be branded a traitor and a liar, and secondly, hoping to “sneak in” a potential compromise by using the old Roman adage, “divide et impera”, or “divide and conquer” and neutralize the rising power of the communist bloc, led by the former waitress Alexandria Cortez aka the “superstar” of the new House majority.

The problem with this approach is that Mr.Trump is not dealing with market-oriented people, but a bunch of Communist/Islamo-Fascist fanatics who hate him and his supporters, and everything they stand for, hence I would not bet the farm on reaching any breakthrough anytime soon, unless he gets out of his trench with hands up, holding a white flag, which is highly unlikely.

Essex is the flagship for the Essex Amphibious Ready Group and, with the embarked 13th MEU, is deployed to the US 5th Fleet area of operations in support of naval operations to ensure maritime stability and security in the Central Region, connecting the Mediterranean and the Pacific through the western Indian Ocean and three strategic choke points.
