Emboldened by the visit by President Trump and backed by Arab and regional allies, Saudi Arabia is engaged in a “cold war” with regional archrival Iran during a meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo who condemned Iran and its Lebanese ally Hezbollah for meddling in Arab affairs.
“Saudi Arabia has won Arab support for escalation against Iran. The first sign of this escalation will be filing a complaint with the UN Security Council against Iran to impose more sanctions [on Tehran] and encourage the U.S. to press for changing the political regime in Iran,” said Anwar Eshki, head of the Jeddah-based Middle East Center for Strategic Studies.
The burning question about this evolving round of hostilities is as follows: As the new energy matrix of US being the largest producer in the world spreads around the markets, will the mounting financial pressures lead to a “real hot war” between the two main branches of Islam, with Iran already working on producing a nuke, and Saudi Arabia rumored of planning to buy one from Pakistan? Is that why a sudden beautiful friendship between Israel and the House of Saud is blossoming? Stand by.

On memorable August days in 1969 the drug crazed hippies of the Charles Manson gang terrorised the city of Los Angeles by stabbing 16 times the wife of film director Roman Polanski, actress Sharon Tate, aged 26 and eight months pregnant at the rented hillside house she shared in the Benedict Canyon area of Los Angeles. The subsequent murders of six other friends of the couple has been thought of by many as the brutal end of one of the happiest periods in human history, US 60’s Renaissance.
Although Manson did not personally kill any of the seven victims, he was found guilty of ordering their murders and died in prison aged 83.
