Police reported that at least one had died and eight injured in a Sunday shooting in the northwest area of Washington DC, after saying that nine were hospitalized with three in critical condition.
Security forces responded to shots fired at the intersection of 14th Street NW and Spring Road Northwest, urging people in the area to be on the lookout for two men wearing black hoodies and one wearing a grey hoodie.
The incident marks the second multiple-casualty shooting over the weekend in the United States, as 13 people were injured in a large fight with over 200 participants in Peoria, Illinois, on early Sunday.

“Black Lives Matter” demonstrators left a trail of destruction and looting, after going from Westlake Park to the municipal courthouse and then headed north to the West Precinct, sending at least one police officer to the hospital, as violent crowds looted stores, throwing rocks and bottles at cops in Seattle.
In East Precinct, one demonstrator hurled a Molotov cocktail into a lobby that caused a small fire, and the police named the incidents as “criminal acts, not peaceful protests”.
Videos allegedly made on scene showed rioters breaking into an Amazon Go in downtown Seattle. Other protesters can be seen riding in unmarked cars with the lines “Black Lives Matter” written on them.

Continuing its long term trend of dumping US Treasuries, Moscow has reduced its holdings from $96 billion to $48.724 billion, and at the same started accumulating more gold in local currency, replacing the greenback with the yellow metal in its portfolio. While the gold reserves grew by only around 13% between 2017 and 2018, they exploded by around 28% between 2018 and 2019, making Russia the world’s biggest buyer of the precious metal during the last couple of years.

The Islamic Sheikdom of UK government has signed deals for 90 million doses of promising coronavirus vaccines that are being developed, with the new deal being on top of 100 million doses of the Oxford University vaccine being developed by AstraZeneca, all vaccines produced by an consortium of Pharma companies.
Even though it is still uncertain which of the experimental vaccines may work, and research efforts applied at an unprecedented scale – the world became aware of coronavirus at the beginning of the year, and now 100m doses of the Oxford vaccine made from a genetically engineered virus, 30 million doses of the BioNtech/Pfizer vaccine, which injects part of the coronavirus’ genetic code, and 60 million doses of the Valneva are on order.
Dr. Kate Bingham, the chair of the government’s Vaccine Taskforce issued a cautionary statement regarding the newly ordered vaccines:
“The fact that we have so many promising candidates already shows the unprecedented pace at which we are moving. But I urge against being complacent or over optimistic. The fact remains we may never get a vaccine and if we do get one, we have to be prepared that it may not be a vaccine which prevents getting the virus, but rather one that reduces symptoms.”
